There is more info in that photo Reel. You wondered if pools or landscaping... That is topsoil on the far side of the wall which tells me there is a whole lot more going on on that side then we can see. This area will be opening really soon. Perhaps by the end of September.

I noticed it, and I wish we had satellites like in MiB where you can zoom into a location in real time...but alas.

And I agree, it will be done by the time I go in October which makes me very happy!

I just noticed that as well. That's definitely new topsoil there.

Figured I'd show this to y'all.

A while back, I assumed that the only way to have a Diagon Alley within the space of Lost Continent was an indoor alleyway which had weather different to that of Scotland and therefore show the change.

After a few sketches, I figured that Jaws was going to make way for Potter, and that it was inevitable. Still, I kept onto those drawings because I thought I had a pretty novel idea.

The basic concept was to have a domed ceiling with a sky projections and speakers that project ambient noise, and instead of employees walking around the buildings, they would walk from place to place under the guests, similar to Magic Kingdom's utilidor system. The following is what I came up with after a quick drawing made in Illustrator:

I like it, and mostly because of the domed sky portion. I've seen a lot of the indoor, faux sky places like in Las Vegas and a few others, and they always have a flat ceiling thats really close to the "roofs" of the buildings, which doesn't lend itself to being realistic. I think a domed structure would be much more effective, especially like you have with the projections.

Well done!

First, we have been remiss in not thanking John321 for his pictures of the granite painting. Thank you John321!

Second, and this is boring Teebin stuff. Note that the left side of the of the photo below is warm in tone compared to the right side of the column. This is because it has more paint treatment layers applied. Goodness knows how many more are coming... to age the thing down with algae and river crud, soot etc. When it comes to old buildings and such in theme parks, part of that warming may be what some designers call "bumping the chroma" to make it more inviting. I.E. in a theme park, even the faux rust looks attractive.

Amazing pics John321! :pop: :rep:

And violarum, I figure that if Disney were planning on making Pandora an indoor environment, they'd do something like a cross between the sky concept you've presented and Turtle Trek. Cool idea!

I don't know if this has been discussed yet but what are everyone's thoughts about the train ride portion of the H-Express? How will Uni create the looks & feel of traveling over the English countryside? I'm going with something like the Kong 360 ride in Hollywood.

Someone else can give a better description of the tech, but so far rumored early word said that the effect is so believable that it caused motion sickness.

Behind the Thrills saw that some more steel was going up in the former Amity area. The perspective isn't the best, but I would assume that this must be part of Diagon Alley.
