Cranes galore on the hp london site, the first tower crane(by san fran) is mostly setup and the second base is sitting there waiting on the fear factor side. The building steel (I assume Gringott's) is coming along well too.

I put a ton of photos up on OrlandoRocks.com

Feel free to post them here if you wish.

Those photos are great thanks for sharing. A few things to note.

- That crane is MASSIVE
- The scaffolding is down on the waterfront
- It appears as if new concrete was poured at the base of the waterfront wall on the lagoon floor where the old concrete used to be

I think the dam will be gone soon if they're lining the floor already.

Now, where are the lions?

I'M DEAD WOW NO IT'S TOO PERFECT

Oh god I just know they're going to open the Embankment this year and I'm just going to go to the park nonstop to sit on the animal-themed benches with my defibrillator nearby and cry.

Once I've hit the run-on sentences, you just know it's going to be ugly from here on out, y'all.

Why are they laying the concrete like that... on the old foundations. Why? The lagoon is natural based sand. I just don't get it.

Awesome updates, all around! Thanks so much everyone!!

So, aside from whenever the waterfront section will be ready / open for foot traffic... what are you guys predicting here? Full reveal, all at once... or... London and Diagon Alley first and Gringott's second? And at what point do you guys think the Hogwarts Express is coming?

Could it possibly be them wanting a solid surface below the wall to make future upkeep easier? A lot easier to set up some scaffolding or a small lift on solid concrete than sand. That's a total guess out of left field because I was hesitant in even stating it was concrete being poured in the first place. Just trying to think out of the box.

Curious... And also, what's up with that "step" or protrusion at the bottom part of the wall, right by where the long stick is leaning against the wall?

Amazing photos! :rep:

Anyways, these three are great because they give a better idea of the ride building's size and sight lines from across the lagoon.

I dunno... my best idea is that there it major infrastructure below that area that they want to secure. But I have not a clue. Could someone scream these questions to the workers next time you are there?

I think they were just filling in the areas that had previously been the Amity jut-outs.

Well duh... the question is why? Why do the juts still exist at all?

No point in spending time/money demo-ing that, when it'd be unseen, deep under water?

Its easy to cap the cement rather than dig out the old broken parts leftover from the old wall. It will also create a clean finish. Remember the dirt that is there has never been used to hold back water; It was on the dry side of the wall. Capping the top with cement will ensure no problems with leakage. And it will seal the "pool".

I just always thought they would do this. I don't understand the shock.

Makes sense. We just were stumped as to why they'd put so much work down there, when it'll be deep under water, and unseen.

You are an engineer by degree and know this to be physical fact? And what "pool" are they sealing when none of the rest is sealed?

Yes I am and yes I do. I also don't need to answer to the great Teebin.
