I guess this kinda flew under the radar, but this shows the ride vehicle shown for the ride and concept art:

tdrexplorer.com

Zootopia Expansion Coming to Shanghai Disneyland

Shanghai Disney Resort has announced that a brand new Zootopia-themed expansion featuring a state-of-the-art attraction

.

Now you can argue this could still be either an EMV or trackless, but I'm leaning a lot more towards a trackless. Notice how there is one big long lapbar like Runaway Railway on each row? If it was EMV, we'd see seatbelts.

I’m frankly quite excited for this. Anyone else think this replacing Indy at DHS makes most sense for it? I know it’s probably going to Animal Kingdom but this would fit perfectly into DHS and it’s the type of ride the park could use.

If going to DHS, I'd rather see it put where Animation Courtyard is.

WDW needs Indiana Jones in some form.

While I agree re excitement about this, very much looking forward to it, but the Indy plot at DHS needs to be replaced by a full fledged Indy E Ticket/land IMO

I haven't heard any indication that it's doing the "the environment is projection-mapped" thing.

I guess I also haven't heard that it's not doing that.

… isn’t that basically what this is? If the ride isn’t E ticket they can expand on Zootopia itself and add another ride and few dining experiences and endless meet n greets.

I'd rather have the Indy live entertainment. There's a shortage of that everywhere, and it's a nice change of pace when touring a park.

Not in my view it isn't. This looks like it has more in common with MMRR than Indy at Disneyland. Give me an Indy EMV or Indy based on shanghi Pirates tech please - or better still lets have Indy and Zootopia! DHS has plenty of room for them.

I’d just much rather see this at DHS, however it happens!

I mean, maybe, but it was expected that that RV mean it would be more along the lines of Indy/Dinosaur.

My impression is MMRR with more animatronics and physical effects.

It would make sense given that MMRR is a recently developed ride and I can see them wanting to continue to implement a type of ride like that in parks around the world since it's a family ride that seems to be pretty popular. I don't consider MMRR an E as much as a high D though (although i'm well aware WDI loves to call everything an E) so it'll be interesting what this turns out to be.

I think this will be trackless as well. The design and layout looks like a reskinned MMRR car. The lapbar is a big giveaway as when you compare the Zootopia vehicle to say the Avengers E ticket vehicle in the concept art for that attraction, the Avengers car has no lapbars which would track with the rumors of that using the next gen EMV from the Peter Pan TDS attraction. But on a side note, why can't Disney design an EMV with a lapbar? I think that is way better and more modern than a seatbelt. Plus the SCOOP ride vehicle Universal uses is basically their take on Disney's EMV.

The Scoop has the doors for guest containment, EMVs don't. Simple as that. Seat belts are SIGNIFICANTLY safer than a lap bar.

This land looks fantastic, looks a bit like a Zootopia version of Hoggsmead from an immersive POV.
Also..doesn't the ride building look like the MMRR Building in Disneyland?

Yes it does. It's the exact same ride system. The model show at D23 2022 confirms that.
