There's something that had always been bugging me about the Wizarding World, but I was never able to put it into words. I was browsing Theme Park Review when I saw this post:

It hit the nail on the head perfectly me for me. Does anyone else feel this way? I think the whole not introducing people to Harry Potter is spot-on. I was watching the POV of the ride and I noticed how nothing was really 'explained', I guess. It was more of a "you already know what all this stuff is so here you go!" kind of thing.

Another really good example of this alienation is Ollivander's. Sure that may seem exciting to Potter fans, but what average theme park guest is going to wait in that line to watch that?

I wanna say Harry Potter is in a different league than Star Trek. I mean of course there will be the people that aren't into Potter, but this isn't a popular franchise, this is the 2nd most popular book(s) in the world only behind the bible. That's a pretty big deal. I don't believe staying power will be a problem.

Very funny TheDecemberists's. No but really, they should have made it more crazy, like a roller coaster.

If they did, it wouldn't accomodate (sp?) nearly as many guests. FJ is already "scary" enough, limiting the number of guests that will want to experience it, but if they added an inversion or two, a lot less people would not ride, and would be very dissapointed.

And why can't I spell?

I'm glad it isn't really intense. Simulators and rides like that make me sick...so I was hoping it wasn't really going to screw me up. I'm definitely taking Dramamine anyways, but I'm a little relieved it isn't too too bad. And it is a family ride, little kids might not be able to ride DC, so they needed a thrilling ride with the family-friendly aspect.
Any news on cast member appearances for GO?

(you can see Alan Gilmore on the bottom left corner), Alan actually came up to me and we talked for a bit more. He told me he saw me taking many pics and asked me if I was a big fan, about my experience and all... It was really cool! (After we finished talking, Matt from Attractions Magazine came up to Alan, so you might remember seeing me Matt!).

Yes, I do remember Alan was talking to someone. Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to say hello to Alan. He told me the Forbidden Journey ride was 99% done, but was having a few small issues.

I believe the label says, apple juice, pumpkin puree and apricot juice. The rest is just chemicals.

I compare it to something similar in taste to pumpkin pie with that spicy taste to it, delicious.

I don't know if there is a specific thing, but I'd just Map Quest it :)

--- Update ---

On the subject of pumpkin juice--not a fan of pumpkin pie. Is it still worth a try? Do you think I'd like it if I didn't like pumpkin pie? I'm sure it is one of those things you just have to try to say you did...

SPOILER ALERT. Highlight to read.

For those who have ridden FJ, how is the Floo Powder effect accomplished?

That does sound good...and who knows, I haven't tried pumpkin pie in a looong time. My taste may have changed. I know I had a pumpkin roll this past Christmas and I thought it was delicious. Guess you never know til you try.

It doesn't loop or truly flip, but there are definitely a few spots where you are much closer to upside-down than rightside-up. It's very disorienting.

To answer a different question, smoke and lighting, then a projection screen. Nothing fancy in that respect.

Do you think it would be an okay ride for someone in their mid to late 60s or early 70s that don't like being jerked around too much. Things like the Mummy they can handle. I just don't want my grandparents to ride FJ if I don't think they can handle it.

Here's my idea of homemade pumpkin juice ingredients:

* 2 cups of pumpkin, pureed
* 1½ cups of apple juice
* 1 cup of apricot juice
* 1 teaspoon of honey
* Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg and/or Allspice, ground

I make it a habbit to never suggest any thrill ride to anyone I don't personally know. It's impossible to judge their tolerances. The only thing I can tell you is ride it once alone and judge if you feel comfortable subjecting them to it yourself, as you know them well.

I don't want to scare you or deter you from riding it, but I got pretty sick on FJ. My brother who never gets sick on rides even said he wouldn't get back on for another ride if you paid him. I do ok with Spiderman, all roller coasters... FJ for me was very different in regards to being aware of your orientation for the entire ride - especially the first time. I've never used Dramamine but I recommend it if it helps you! Like I said, don't want to make you nervous or anything, but just be prepared because this was my experience.

Yeah, I was thinking about riding it first anyways. Thanks C:
