Personally - I would prefer the Lorax ride (even if it's got unnecessary 3D) and the Jurassic Park Mine Coaster over the latter & Kong. I just think it'd better flesh out both islands and anchor new major attractions in different corners of the park... plus, Universal has a dearth of family friendly dark rides, so I'd like to see another get added to the roster.

Either way, I'll be happy. Both attractions sound promising.

Things take time. There's only so much construction resources available at once ;)

I understand the connection between Universal and Kong, but it seems so odd to put it in IOA. I would much rather see expansions of existing Islands. I would welcome any addition of the Seuss variety. It really is a magical Island. So bright, funky, and unique. Put Kong in Studios, but of course that is not my decision to make! So I will sit here and ohh and ahh regardless of what they do.

FWIW, Mark Woodbury and Thierry Coup were giving a very in depth tour to several high ups from Seuss Enterprises around Seuss Landing a little over a week ago. With digital cameras and numerous blue prints in hand they walked most of the Island before disappearing backstage. I've held back trying to find out the purpose of their visit but have been unsuccessful in doing so.

A few things of note to keep things calm in the rumor field

-While they did have blueprints in hand it very well could of been a check up on the Islands condition.
-The area's they focused on heavily were If I Ran the Zoo, 1F2F, Cat Entrance, Sneetch Beach, and they disappeared into the empty plot backstage.
-I do not think this had anything to do with Grinchmas as no one from A&D was with the group.
-In MY OPINION: I believe this was a walk regarding a heavy amount of work coming to Seuss Landing. I do believe we will see numerous minor projects completed across the island and capping it off with a new family ride in 2017. But again thats just my thoughts.

This pretty much says it all and meshes with ideas, rumors, speculation presented here. I do hope the green ham goes.

A flat ride on Sneetch Beach
Some reworking of IF2F
Fixing Seuss Trolley to be all-ages
Cat in the Hat upgrade
Capstone: Lorax dark ride

Sounds good to me!! :hat:

Um This Is Orlando Informer's road map for Universal Any Truth?????

2014 – Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley opens (but of course); The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride goes dark for ride system upgrades.
2015 – Seuss Landing expansion opens with a new Lorax ride, positioned between the Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; Disaster is shut down permanently; Terminator gets its upgrade/facelift.
2016 – Jurassic Park expansion opens, though we have no word what, exactly, this will entail; Revenge of the Mummy gets its upgrade/facelift (if it hasn’t already received it in 2015).
2017 – the Disaster replacement will likely open, and though our source says it is by no means confirmed, Kong is for now the most likely candidate.

THIS IS NOT MINE IT IS ORLANDO INFORMER'S.

BTW, there is such a thing as "Seuss Enterprises" that requires a team of anyone, let alone "higher-ups"?

Again I tried looking into this but as a privately held company info is sketch at best. Websites from bloomberg to insidebusiness? have Seuss enterprises with as little as 7 employees to as many as 50. From a revenue as little as 2 million to as much as 50+ million dollars. In other words Teebs I'm not sure just using the words from someone trustworthy who provided the info.

Interesting, thanks. I wasn't questioning your post at all... just more the idea that there is such a thing. It had never occurred to me.

U TURN!

A few days ago I posted that this project has been brought to a halt, which it was. After a member of Universal Creative said "Hmmm, lets do that Lorax thing", the rest of the team then reviewed the plans for the expansion. After reviewing the plans they decided that they liked the idea of a Lorax Dark Ride, and that it would be great for marketing. So now, instead of there being a 99.9% chance of this not happening, there is now a 99.9% chance that this project will happen. I will not put in the last 0.1% because like most of you know, anything can happen. The reason Mark Woodbury was touring people around was to review the plans for the expansion. And, yes the plans are still to build the 3D scooter ride HTF mentioned:thumbs:

^ You? I believe the word that it had been cancelled came from whylightbulb on that other website. When did you claim the same idea?
