Eventually, there'll be a replacement since IOA doesn't have many expansion options

Weird. You would think they would keep the shrubbery up as it would look less...vacant. I feel like something still is coming at some point.

Earliest I could see anything happening to Jurassic Park is 2017. By then the new trilogy could be well underway and UC would have an idea on what to do.

Legendary just announced that they're co-financing "Jurassic World" with Universal and they also had this to say about their partnership:

In addition to being able to help co-finance high-profile tentpoles, Legendary’s new deal with NBCUniversal affords Tull more autonomy and opportunities to expand his company’s imprint across other businesses. It now has access to Comcast’s vast portfolio of broadcast and cable channels and broadband services, as well as theme parks around the world. “We’re very excited about the theme parks; there are certainly a lot of conversations around that,” says Tull, who already had a relationship with Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke through mutual friends.

Wonder if they're referring to JP or other projects..

Honestly I think it's JP, river adventure was in the works when the first movie was being made and since world is mostly a theme park then we are bound to get some awesome rides based on it. If this movie is as big as it's saying it'll be then we might be looking at a complete makeover here from JP to JW, you never know

Given the timing, I immediately thought of Godzilla...

Probably Godzilla, Jurassic World, and Warcraft are all being looked at for expansions/attractions

Am I the only one who thinks Godzilla would just be wrong for an American park?

Isn't the symbolism behind Godzilla based on America dropping the Atom bomb(s) on Japan?

That's is correct but hey, things go boom = fun universal ride. Godzilla has evolved from the worst thing that could possibly happen to watching hand puppets fight. This new one is going back to the serious side but this time it's in San Fran. I see no harm done

A while back The Goddard Group who thought the Jurassic Park boat adventure up, mentioned that process on their facebook page. The jeep ride was there first because of the movie (Spielberg was on board designing the park) but ended up with the result being not great (they wanted to include the scene where the T-rex is hunting the jeep but the action would be behind you and because of that wouldn't work.
The book (where to movie was based on) mentioned a boat ride where the kids would try to escape a dino. That scene didn't make it in the movie but they all thought that would be great for the ride at Universal.
Artwork for the Jurassic Park island by the Goddard company ended up in the movie in the dinner scene with projections.

For an amazing read (with stunning artwork) about many of the rides/shows they created for Universal (incl de JPRR) follow this link:

Wow, the entire walk from the JP gate (by Toon Lagoon) to the Thunder Falls building is really different now that they've cut down the trees. The illusion of being in a forest/jungle is completely gone, especially where the one car and dinosaur are- I wonder if that's where an entrance might be going...

People said it's like JP I'm hollywood but that's still odd walking into the gates of Jurassic park to immediately jump into skull island

I'm hoping they move the gates further in eventually... maybe as part of the future JP (Jurassic World?) expansion? Once Kong comes in, I'd guess trees will come back in. Both have a tropical/jungle locale

I don't even know if they are going to grow the trees back. Maybe around the show building but I have no idea how much space the temple will make around itself. They will probably push the gates back

The placement of JP's gates depends on how you enter Skull Island I presume. I am quite curious about the entrance to Skull Island. Is it going to be pretty open with the temple/ruins highly visible as soon as you enter where the JP gates sit now? Or will it be more secluded with a lush tropical/jungle walkway leading to the temple/ruins hidden from JP's gates?

I'm pretty sure it'll be as soon as you walk in you'll the the temple. They want to be able to see the temple on the waterway and the placement might be too confusing for some people if it was walkway. I don't even know if there is room for a walkway. Most of the walking is apparently in the giant temple queue
