Wait, the extra theater is going? Would anything replace it?

gutted? That was not the original intention. Are you telling us that all the decorative wall treatments and the screen have been torn out? Please elaborate in detail.

Should have clarified that the seats got removed. I have no idea if the screen was taken down or anything else, I don't have any inside info

Ah, ok. Yeah, seats removed and a riser stage built above. Last I heard, all of that effort was going to come out of the HHN budget. It was a bit of a choker decision for them.

When is whatever replaces Twister meant to open actually? End of next year or is this for 2017 as well?

Lets headcount here..

2017 sees three big things.

Fallons pretty much the apatizer, mainly due to the facadework being done to fix that thing.

Then we have dinner, Volcano Bay which will be the five star course

and then finally desert..Fast and Furious.

Yep. One hell of a year.

Back to Fallon, is it possible we see a change to the facades like the Metropolis building and the other facades facing that side of NYstreet?

Is there only one theatre in the current twister?

How is this possibly a good idea? Capacity will be atrocious.

Most everyone is saying they hate the ride concept rumors, so perhaps it won't be popular, therefore making lack of capacity a moot point. But then again, we might all be wrong, they'll love Fallon, and the attraction will be swamped. :bang:

What is currently present in the twister building is completely moot and inconsequential. The entire building is going to be gutted to its hollow and massive shell and then rebuilt with two theaters and a partially glamorous (and probably art deco) retrospective queue.

Reminder to some of the newer members here that what I typed above is not a rumor, but a fact.

For me, the remaining mystery is what will be projected onto the two gargantuan screens.

So the update I got today was both Twister and Disaster are closing in November, but if either one has a major problem with the show/ride systems (which both have been known to have problems), it could be moved up sooner.

Oh ok - that's why I was asking. The building didn't strike me as large enough to handle two Soarin' sized theatres unless there was another bay to Twister that I didn't know about.

So if there are indeed two theatres coming, do you know what kind of a capacity we are talking? I assume they cannot fit in the 81 seat setup with all ground floor loading that Disney uses.

They should be fine with two theatres though, Universal doesn't see the number of guests and have the capacity issues that Epcot does to warrant needing more than 1000-1200 per hour. I was worried we were talking 600...
