If they want to start earlier than the weekend of the 15th they need to make significant changes to Rock the Universe.

They can easily do this. Date's still haven't been revealed for Rock the Universe either and looking at the history of the event, they have put on the event early in years past. They could easily make Rock the Universe start on Sept 1st allowing HHN to start Sept 8th. It's going to come to a point where something has to move. HHN is a money maker for them, far more than any annual event they put on. I wouldn't be surprised if this year, or within the next few years, HHN starts opening the first weekend in Sept and Rock the Universe start becoming an end of August event. Yes that mean's it won't line up with Disney's event of the same nature, but honestly with the money that Food and Wine brings in, I could see Disney moving their event into August as well.

It just a matter of time before something happens to deal with crowds. Either start a few weeks sooner or expand into two parks. If the rumored "fourth" gate (since they are calling VB a "gate") happens soon on the new land, they might consider moving HHN to that park if it is designed bigger with more HHN locations set aside of houses. They have some things they can do, but one thing is for sure, they have to do SOMETHING. Crowds will just keep getting worse. I can already imagine what it's going to be like come the next big anniversary during HHN 30.

Yeah they traditionally do it the same weekend as Disney which this year is the weekend of the 8th & 9th. Like I said they would need to make changes, no longer lining it up with Disney's event would be a big change. I think it's also possible they could move it to another park at some point.

Universal will not move HHN from USF. Lots of soundstages, large streets for zones, and plenty of areas for mazes. Only reason why IOA/USF combo failed (operation wise) was because of expanding to big with smaller crowd size. Now that HHN has larger attendance, it could possibly be back in the table for part of it to be in IOA, but I doubt it.

I probably should have been more clear, I was suggesting that RTU could be moved not HHN.

You're assuming soundstages are staying...

Another thing to remember about dates is UOR would bump into the the capability of the entertainment department and construction crew to complete build and installation.

Another post requesting they spend like... $500 on building queues that aren't just ropes on old broken concrete.

Heck, just repair the area where the queues will be and patch them up and paint some stuff and throw in some fans and speakers for good measure.

Also - if the queues are hours long, why not play movies and shows that you're experiencing?

The Music Plaza Stage could entertain the different queues just looping some classic horror films.

I know it's blasphemy to not play the same droning electronic 7 minute music track at deafening levels in every common area of the park.. but I think people would appreciate the change of pace.

Call me crazy but I would much rather them spend the money on the house than in the queue. The only way we will ever get a fully themed queue is if the house is year round like TWD in Hollywood.

I don't understand your speakers and fan comment. Fan's can be rare but they do use them in the queues. Speakers and other queue entertainment has been in place every single year I go. Maybe not every single house because I don't recall TWD or Ghost Town last year having any type of music in line but all the others did. Heck, for the first time in a LONG time, we had a house with a nearly covered queue line with AHS. Chances house had a whole pre-show setting up the house starting with the events of 25 that lead to 26. Plus people are just going to be playing Heads Up the entire wait anyway so why spend the money on the queue?

I'm assuming based of Split being the #1 film for the past three weeks, Universal is considering it for a house since they do have co-ownership of the IP.

Yup.

I can go through my reasoning again, but it isn't going to happen. If anything, it'd be a SINGLE scene in a larger cinema montage house (think Silver Screams).

But... it's a horror movie that came out this year. It HAS to be a house.

Query: the community complained quite a bit about seeing backstage at Disney with the Express Bus system.

Why does Universal, which we say is meant to be a competitor for Disney in terms of quality, get a pass for throwing people in backstage areas?

Heck, Disney probably decided they could get away with it because of how often Universal does it.

HHN isn't daytime Disney (or even Daytime Universal in a sense).

It's very much a complicated answer as Universal has to run HHN differently than normal park hours, and having backstage exposed is something that has to happen for the theme park, to accommodate the large crowds that the event recieves.

You also have to keep in mind, that UOR does film material in various soundstages at various points for the year. In theory, Universal gets the pass as you have to handle both the film and theme park at one place.
