GFS and the Euro Model are pretty much agreeing on a Miami area hit or at least close to the shore and going offshore towards the Carolinas now and driving all the way to Cincinnati(yay....). The NAM keeps it a little more offshore.

And in the it can always get worse category, the long range Euro model is having Jose do a loop and head right back into the FL/Cuba gap next Sunday.

I'm wondering what we're going to get up here in Cinci. I've heard mainly some drenching rain. I remember when Ike came through with some strong winds and knocked our power out for four days. Rain is one thing but we aren't really prepared to deal with high winds. There are a couple trees in my neighbor's yard that would quickly become my problem if the wind is strong at all. Not probable, though.

Seems the expected path has veered even more to the East.

Disney expects to make announcements and changes based on forecast on Thursday afternoon.

But having Night of Joy, Food and Wine booths, and even the fall decor and MNSSHP lighting systems up and installed right now even with the minimal forecasted tropical storm winds is dangerous.

It all needs to be down before Saturday night.

That means they should have started today st the latest.

Being scheduled to fly next Tuesday, I'm more worried about how bad the airlines will be messed up still, how bad the rental car places have no gas, rides will be closed, etc. Parks may be open but I'll almost be in the way of an area trying to recover...feeling a lot of uncertainty!

The 1200 models are coming in and not a whole lot has changed on the GFS. Slightly more east, but still blasting Miami. The 1200 NAM, which has had it going way east, has reversed course and has it running right up the center of the state through Okeechobee. So that's not a good sign. The 1200 Euro is still loading, but the snapshot looks like it still has it going through Miami. Starting to look bad for South Florida after looking better earlier.

Looks like by the time it gets here it'll be a lot of rain, but gusty winds. This far out theres not a lot of agreement on which way its going to track once it hits the Carolinas, so the models aren't real clear. One did show gusts of 70+ though....

To add to the to-do list...

The cranes all over property for construction should come down. If not, the buildings around them should be evacuated. That'd be Coronado and Caribbean Beach.

It's your business, but if this thing does head directly at you, by the time you realize you need to leave, the roads may be blocked and the gas stations empty. If I lived in the Miami area, I'd probably be in Georgia already.

This is a heart wrenching natural disaster. Regardless of what happens in Orlando, parts of Florida are going to see direct impacts baring a miracle.

At least with the various forecasting models, disaster planning and social media many lives will be saved. That is the only bright spot.

People are definitely taking the planning of it seriously, too. For about 3-4 days now, I would've had a better chance of finding a needle in a haystack than I have of finding water. It's next to impossible to find.

The Hogsheads sign is probably a good candidate. So many dangling signs in a theme park. It will be interesting to see what they do in Diagon as it seems so protected from wind.

Interestingly, they talked about the cranes in Miami. Said that the best way is to put them in free-spin mode and let them whirl. This could be the next big Disney ride.

Hey, if you need shelter, come up to Ohio. I have a shed out back that I can put a cot in for you. I will give you assigned bathroom times but we do have plenty of trees. I also have a tent.

This storm is going to kill people in Florida. Folks in Orlando should be safe to ride it out, but you have to be prepared, and be smart. Downed powerlines, and falling trees are deadly.

Park your car near a sturdy wall and away from trees.

My GF's sister and husband were vacationing at Seven Springs Mountain Resort here in the Pittsburgh area. They live about an hour and a half south of Orlando. They flew back to Florida last night. We told them, "why the heck are you going back, everyone else is leaving". They should have stayed here. They didn't have to go back to work until the end of Sept. anyway.
