Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin

Geesh. I am an APH and registered for the front of the line access for next Saturday. I wonder how well that's going to work as it appears this ride has painfully low capacity and slow load times.

Did any of you who have ridden experience anything close to the following concept art? The ride videos don't even seem close.

This video shows that the live scenes at the end are much more color accurate to the ride than TPI's video (which made it look as though the live appeared lit by sodium vapor streetlights).

Ride sucks broke down several times and left us in each room.
Que is nice but not four hours nice, yes that is the wait time now

Maybe those wait times will die down quickly, as it sounds more & more like something that wont have alot of repeat riders, which accounts for most of those wait times. Between hearing all the bad reviews & long wait times, sounds like putting this one off might not be such a bad idea.

Only downfall, you actually have to ride in order to get to the Penguin exibit at the end if all you want to do is look at the Penguins?

No, you can bypass the ride and just go to the habitat.

Did Jungala actually look the way the concept art depicted it? Was Turtle Trek as great and hi def as promised? Was Aquatica all you were expecting it to be? SeaWorld continues to over promise with these attractions. I have to say, for me, this was expected.

I can't say I'm surprised either. I've been on DarKastle. I know how SeaWorld/Busch can drop the ball when using a great ride system.

Might still go tomorrow to ride Manta and Kraken, though.

I would assume after Antarctica, the longest line in the rest of the park might be at Guest Relations

Honestly Sea World is all about the animals...not sure why they continue to venture into the realm of crappy animation, when they have the best animal exhibits in the world..this attraction could have been so much more if it killed the videos and took us by real habitats..and maybe two animatronics...

I have to say, I too expected something completely different from what we got. I think the ride should have just been one large live animal exhibition. Forget the corney story or video of the penguin almost getting eaten. Would be cool just to zoom around their environment. Maybe go under a water tank so you can see them swimming?

When I left Ant. I went to Kraken... 10 minites then Manta which had a 50 minute wait.

If you go to see the Penquins I recommend a jacket if you want to stay in the encounter morevthan 5 minutes, its that cold in there.
Yeah I would hit Manta first, it was up and running at 8 this morning I wish I had rode that ten times instead of waiting two hours for that... but hey I got a antartca wrist band and sticker!
