How MUCH do you want to bet that ALL these Disney freaks that are protesting this so strongly, and probably hit re-dial 1200 times to make a reservation at BOG a month ago, will order an alcoholic drink at dinner?

Wait a second... Are they going to serve alcohol? I havent kept up with this over the last few days because I tend to focus on billion dollar expansions that generate excitement vs a 450 million dollar kiddie land that gives parents a boost to deal with their little ones.

Who the hell cares!!!

Can we please talk about something else?

I should get drunk at BOG on sheer principal alone.

With how reservations have been... I'd put it in the same category.

Well, hopefully the next update on blue parking cones gets them distracted.

Nah, napkin and cup designs will do the job.

personally i think there doesn't need to be alcohol in the Magic Kingdom. it's just not the right atmosphere, different from Epcot and the other parks. and before people try to counter that with Club 33, i've never liked the idea of it there anyway. but i anyways,

having hard liquor is a bit too much, ya know like beer and such, for Fantasyland, let alone the Magic Kingdom. but for the theme and setting, some champagne and red wine should be enough to at least tide the alcoholics over imo. so yeah, if they will serve alcohol at least make it coincide with the classiness. unless the beer will be served in special glasses that is.

When did beer become hard liquor? And why does having wine with dinner make you an alcoholic? I have a lot of alcoholics in my family and you belittle a very serious subject with such remarks.

so you only focus on me calling people alcoholics? shall i apologize for my apparent lack of consideration because i hurt your feelings? :shifty:

that wasn't the main focus of my post, but if it means so much to you, i'm sorry that i mistook such and such.

You didn't hurt my feelings at all. You just sounded a tad ignorant saying that beer was hard liquor and you're an alcoholic if you have wine with dinner. As to your main point, let me try to paraphrase: they shouldn't serve liquor in MK, but they already do, but I don't like it, so don't argue that they already do. Sound right?

While I am not a drinker myself, I see no problem at all with someone having A FEW beers or a glass of wine with their meals. I do have a problem, however, with drunk people. No one wants to be around drunks. If you enjoy hanging out with drunk people than you are probably a drunk yourself. There is nothing wrong with Magic Kingdom, or any theme park, selling alcoholic beverages, just as long as guests are monitored to ensure that they are not drinking to excess.

They are not serving alcohol at the actual bar. They are not serving alcohol during the middle of the day. They are serving expensive and theme appropriate wine and beer at dinner service. People would have to go really out of their way to even get the slightest bit tipsy from what they are planning on making available in BoG.

As said before, people are only kidding themselves if they think this is the reason drunks could be in the Magic Kingdom. I've known people that drank around the world in Epcot, rode the monorail, and then entered the Magic Kingdom. People taking this news way too seriously really need to get down off of their high horse.

Also, it is flat out ignorant and insulting to insinuate that anyone is an "alcoholic" for simply enjoying a glass of wine, a beer, or cocktail with dinner.

The people who want to get plastered won't be able to afford to do it in Be Our Guest. No worries people.

Just for the fun of it, Theme Park Insider has added a poll asking readers their opinions of BoG serving alcohol: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201209/3199/
