I've always enjoyed these rides and hope they don't shut anytime soon (well at least before my next trip in April..!!)

Same here, I find DC superior to Hulk as well.

I like that the queues have never been too long when I've been there (much shorter than anything else in that area) so it's always been possible to do both coasters back to back.

And this is why it needs to go. There are just not enough people interested in this ride anymore.

Not necessarily, the ride has good capacity as well.

This is true. But most of the rides with good capacity still have wait times.

I can't remember where I read it, but there was something stating that at full theoretical capacity, DC could go through 4800 people per hour. It also said that a queue line can not even move that many people per hour through. So for the ride to even run at full efficiency you'd need to completely separate the queues. In the current configuration, under ideal capacity, the ride would never have a line. I don't think any other ride in the park can achieve anything close to 4800 per hour. That being said, with metal detectors and a single line that splits, its wasted capacity. I hate the thought of losing a B&M. But, I do like the idea of more Potter.

Yeah the fact that dragon challenge is ever anything but a walk on is completely due to the lack of adequite metal detectors which creates an artificial wait.

I can remember many years ago when Dueling Dragons used to have real lines. We used to spend the time reading the messages written with bones in the queue.

I'm always late to the party but I keep seeing things like shrieking shack, malfoy manor, or Fantastic beasts. Those will not replace DC. Especially if JK has a say. Malfoy manor is hardly interesting. same with shrieking shack. But it seems most people want the forbidden forrest. Its the only thing that makes sense as far as location. And its open to many different possibilities and creatures. Of course it is already in FJ...still the best option though

The forbidden forest section only really shows the spiders.

With all that land, I want a sizable Black Lake.

Yup. That little area where they live can be totally skipped in a real expansion.

I know it's connected to everything else but I think the IoA lagoon sort of fills that role.

It is now September 21 and nothing has been started yet. If this project was a Hulk style refurb it would have started by now. This suggests that the project has been postponed or it's much bigger.
