This would still use the existing theatre, just re-routing the entrance. Might depend on the layout for the coaster. If the area that covers over the stage now can’t have us walk under it or with coverings, I guess it could be difficult. If not I see that as queue area personally.

The only entrance I think would be good is to set it up like the old Nickelodeon tours and have guests queue under the awning outside of the theater. Usually grinchmas queue's from IOA. Not sure they've ever done a show in this theater from USF?

The Blue Man Group theater has been sitting empty since COVID so a new show there would be a net positive for park capacity to tide people over until Pokemon.

Ya know the more I thought of it, it is basically asking the guests to enter the park and turn around. I now find this idea hilarious.

Don’t they at least use it for Grinch show two Christmas seasons now?

I know everyone is rightfully hyped about EU and that’s what everyone (me included, holy s**t) is focused on, but it’s been a while, and do hope that the rumored desire for somebting permanent for ghostbusters other than the parade hasn’t fallen through. They have to have gone out of their way to get a permanent license for the property for the parade and show and tribute store merch, and with HHN and them, they really seem to be re-embracing the IP. I hope they find a place for them, they deserve a presence. I do wonder if the assumed sucess of the parade and show, and tribute store had any effect on the chances.

Yeah, I feel like with Epic, Zelda, F&F coaster, Pokemon, Wicked, etc., the Ghostbusters rumors have kinda dried up a bit as of late. The IP definitely deserves a decent bit of representation in USF. It's a longstanding nostalgia property that has proven itself viable even 40 years on.

If they're doing Luigi's Mansion then they're definitely not doing Ghostbusters anytime soon.

I would settle for a GB flat ride in NYC ... just returned from a family trip and was surprised how popular the Simpsons alien ride was with kids.

I definitely think Ghostbusters as a spectacle for families and nostalgia bait for older park goers should be a bit more in the park if they have permanent license. I wonder with MIB getting older and Sony continuing Ghostbusters (to limited levels of success) would they make a shooter for that franchise.

Also the s’mores from HHN with the mini stay puft would be definitely welcome to stay year round. Imagine a ghostbuster lab and getting those?

I have to imagine some Business executive at UDE right now is projecting sales of the Stay Puft S'mores for year round sales lol

I don't know anything as far as rumors or anything, but I have something to say that might get me in trouble:

I think I would rather have Luigi's Mansion...

Even if we accept that the two attraction concepts would be very similar (we don't know that, but for the sake of discussion...), when has that ever stopped Universal?

There should be room (creatively) for both themes to exist at two theme parks.

I think Luigi's Mansion also lends itself better to a shooter/interactive attraction.

Ghostbusters could absolutely get away with being a standard dark ride.

To answer your hypothetical, probably when

1. They compared Mario merch sales to Ghostbusters merch sales.
2. They realized that the last Luigi's Mansion game made more money than the combined gross of the last four Ghostbusters movies.

How is this an argument for not doing both (assuming resources not an issue, etc.)?

My argument was that two similar ride concepts would not be a reason to not do both.

It's not, unless you move the goalposts to exclude the issue of resources.

Building two similar attraction concepts would not be an issue, unless one had a more likely return on investment than the other. In which case, they likely wouldn't bother with the second. If the two franchises were of equal value (in Universal's eyes), then yes, I would agree that there's no reason why they couldn't build both.
