You can be anti-Trump and not be an ass to other members. They shared their feelings, you can disagree, just don't be an ass about disagreeing. There's a line here, and people know where it is. It's their choice to cross it. Hence - short leash.

Ok.... but stage issues and no recording of the script ARE issues. Hand wave them all you want but that’s the situation.

I believe you 110% and agree with you, I just don't get why WDC feels the need to find reasons for the delay time and time again... Most of us know the main reason, and most of us know that Disney is not at fault here (except for non-speaking vs speaking role). We get it! Just open the attraction whenever you can and move on.

I wonder if Disney has some kind of contract/gag order to stop him from making any comments or posts about the attraction.

It's because people act like children and can't control themselves moreso now than ever. @Joel already mentioned he was going to boo as long as it didn't ban him. Boo... an AA. To hell with the other people there who are trying to enjoy the attraction. And he's certainly not alone in that feeling (as can be seen by previous attendees who selfishly booed or cheered past presidents).
If Hitler were in a historical attraction I wouldn't vandalize it in any way, shape or form. The fact people feel that they actually need to express their emotions in a public setting that doesn't warrant or desire their opinion- just epitomizes the narcissism of our society today.
Then again, so does posting in forums in many cases :D

This will be my last comment on this thread - I don't want to get banned but I also believe I have the right to respond when called out. I don't believe I crossed a line (albeit I may have tip-toed it); I didn't personally attack anyone on here and booing an attraction isn't grounds for a ban no matter the reasoning.

"boo... an AA" - the AA is a representation of a man who I strongly disagree with, why not boo "it"? Rarely does one participate in a protest where the decision makers (who can do something about it) are present, but people still chant, boo, etc. It's about getting your voice heard.

Lastly, I wouldn't vandalize a Hitler AA either. However no company would make a Hitler AA for a historical attraction; there's no need to have an anatomical representation of a man who murdered millions of people (including 6 million of my own). I'm confident most people would vehemently oppose any such idea, and those of us who's families were caught on the wrong side of fascism would do anything to peacefully oppose it, just as I choose to display by opposition against modern day fascism.

I'm happy to take any further conversation into a a private message as I respect everyone's opinions and would really love to not get banned.

Too childish to let people sitting around you enjoy an attraction that you disagree with? If anyone were to "boo" obnoxiously during an attraction that represents our country- or any attraction- I'd hope that they'd be escorted out of the attraction. Don't ruin it for others just because you don't like someone.

All that is fine and well in the right setting. But what you are also doing is ruining and interrupting the attraction for those who don’t feel the same way you do. So while you are booing to make your voice and opinion heard, you are simultaneously disregarding everyone else and their opinions.

The bottom line is that it’s selfish and accomplishes nothing except making you feel better while making a multitude of others upset, annoyed or distracted. That goes with booing anyone, of course.

On another note: I finally finished the 20 hr documentary of Vietnam from the brilliant Ken Burns. If there is ever a president we should boo, it’s Nixon. The fact that guy got a presidential pardon after the things he did individually is a travesty. Makes any administration and president since him look like Mother Teresa.

I don't like Trump at all, and I have no plans to ever go on this attraction again. Frankly I hear enough from him daily that disgusts me, that I don't need it ruining my vacation. Theme Parks should be political free zones. I would never go on the attraction and "boo" though. Everyone has their own political opinion, but there is no need to force it on others, or ruin an attraction for younger kids or Trump supporters.

When are people going to boycott Splash Mountain for being based off of what people at the time of its release called racist. The main character who was black wasn't allowed to attend its premier screening because of his color. Or boycott Pocahontas for romanticizing an "abused" native americans story.

A theme park isn't a place to boycott, be unruly, be "heard", etc. Don't like it, don't go.

The fact that we can have all of our presidents on stage even in robotic form is beautiful. This isn't the middle east where extremists break the art/artifacts in museums because they disagree or dislike it.

I don't care who the president is. I think the attraction is boring. It's a PBS documentary. American Adventure covers a broader, more compelling narrative, and clicks every emotional and inspirational button in the process. When "Golden Wings" hits at the end, you can't help but get teary-eyed.

Now that American Adventure exist, Hall of Presidents feels extremely redundant within the context of the resort as a whole. High levels of animosity toward any President over the last two decades has turned it into a liability.

They could take that same space and convert it into a Muppets retelling of American history or, even better, a "Princess and the Frog" dark ride, and I'd consider it an improvement.

EDIT - And booing anything at a themepark (people booed Twister and Stitch...) is equivalent to taking flash photography. Yeah, it's selfish, but it happens. In this instance, the boo-er can at least get some level of catharsis because they would be reacting to the avatar of someone they vehemently disagree with. Doesn't make it appropriate or less individualistic.

Totally agree with you on American Adventure and I don't care what anyone says about it, it's an E-ticket in my book.

Speak for yourself. I boo the entire time as loud as I can. At least until the drop, then I grab the boobs of whoever is in front of me for the pic.

You can misdirect this anyway you'd like, but that doesn't mean this won't stir up controversy. You have no control of what people are or are not offended by.

If Disney is PC enough to change a woman auction scene in one of their flagship dark rides, you know this is going to be a sensitive issue for them. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

So ... theoretically this re-opens in 10 days? Any confirmation? Have shifts been posted on the Hub? I would think after a year closure some training might even be in order.

I saw 18th somewhere, Monday before Christmas weekend makes sense. Realistically, if not open in next 20 days (and that's pushing it), not going to open "this year," can dismiss entire report out of hand.

The 18th is when AP blackouts kick in. Prime holiday season.
