Uh, I don't think Murdy was saying that it was a 20th Century Fox film... but a property from the 20th Century (as in 1900's) and not from the 21st Century (2000's).

Pretty cool, this is something I'll accept since its a HHN original house instead of based on an existing property which is what I love about HHN, the originality.

YES!!!! The house was awesome so I envision them to build off of it an mix in the inbetween, house of 1000 corpses, and Alice's haunt from last year.

No, because the people that I've talked to about the house (including our very own Hatetofly) were very impressed with it.

This house was a BLAST. The audio design was amazing... mixing Alice's music with a traditional horror movie score. I will say tho, that this is not the same titled house as last year (which was "Welcome to My Nightmare") and that house wasn't in 3-D. Seems like they're taking the good vibes from the first house and upping the ante with a little more funding. Last year, Murdy had to BEG to get funding for the maze as it was his life-long ambition to work with Cooper. It was a last minute house and had little funding... and still turned out to be the best of the bunch.

Considering I've had many friends say they are better than USF's houses it probably rightfully won.

Jymmy I'm wondering if this house will be more based on his music or just designed by him.

I don't think it will be designed by him, but more have his input. That's how it worked with Murdy. Murdy came up with everything and then pitched it to Cooper, who gave feedback and advice on how to handle the music.

I should have specified more. I wonder if they'll let Cooper have more input on this. From my understanding they let Penn and Teller have quite a bit of input.

Gotcha.

If it helps, Welcome to My Nightmare was a combination of things that he liked and being based on Welcome to My Nightmare and Welcome 2 My Nightmare, the two albums featuring "Steven" a demented homicidal maniac with the mind of a little boy. The house moved through different songs from a couple of different albums (starting in Steven's bedroom and then proceeding into the depths of his mind). There were also references to Cooper's traditional stage displays (specifically his famous guillotine).

I know it's waaaaay too early to judge the event, but i'm already a little disappointed knowing we're getting so many houses based on existing properties. I was thrilled about silent Hill, and even cool with WD. But now we have 3 houses that will be similar to Hollywood, which takes away the originality of the Orlando park. And they are "predictable" in that we are familiar with the universe these houses take place in. I was hoping for more original houses like Hades and saws n steam. This is the first time i'll be able to attend an HHN event, and I desperately wanted to attend the last 3 events and now I have the means, but i'm not particularly thrilled because I feel I know what to expect from these houses.
Again I know it's far too early to make any calls on this event, and that one guy said he was most excited about working on this event. Time will tell, and i'm prepared to eat my words!

At first mention an Alice Cooper themed house does not do much for me and I thought, "meh, skip for last." After reading this thread it sounds a lot better but I can't say I'm excited for it. As for Hollywood having the same houses who cares, good, maybe keep more people away from Orlando and reduce the lines for once! Also for everyone complaining about no original stuff how many of us have walked through a silent hill or a walking dead tv series house? They are still going to be great new experiences and no worries, there are still a few houses left to be announced so I'm sure we will get some totally original ideas soon!
