TWD is clearly an exception since there hasn't been another IP to do that in the history of HHN. Also freakshow was one of the most popular shows of last year, don't see where you got that information

you don't have to worry about relevancy period with HHN, dracula untold is beyond irrelevant now but at the time it just came out and it didn't matter because it was gonna be taken down in a month. Taking one of the most popular horror shows...ever and turning it to a house at the peak of its popularity is far from a bad idea

Dracula Untold wasn't about relevancy but synergy

When do we normally start getting credible hints to the houses? Seems like its in about a month that leaks will start coming out.

Well obviously it's not as big as the walking dead most shows aren't period. It's still incredibly popular and only going to get bigger with hotel. Also that's awesome, I think they should hype this year up to a ridiculous level like monthly clues or something like that. It's a big year and should be treated as such

Very soon. Dr. Jimmy always does an April Fools video where 95% of it is fake but one or two things are right (Poe and 7 in 2011, Penn and Teller in 12, AWIL in 13, and Dracula last year).

To be frank, it's popular these days mostly with folks lacking in good taste...though that's just my opinion. It's a solid brand, but is losing momentum - the Lady Gaga casting stunt says to me they're getting worried about its long-term future, not to mention the retconning of the entire universe being "connected" between seasons. Add Ryan Murphy kickstarting new shows... I dunno. If they were going to do it, this would be the year. After this? Draw may not be there.

Well I wouldn't say that, Freakshow had some great moments and a few not so great...but it is nowhere near lacking taste, but I suppose we could discuss this in another forum..

Truth is AHS is good content for Universal, but those themes have been done/can be done without the IP to be honest

I think it's the exact opposite. Ryan Murphy is notoriously difficult to work with.

If they could deal with JK I'm sure he wouldn't be too bad. Most directors get a lot of creative freedom anyways, it'll be fine

FNaF3 was just released and this is the synopsis:

Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed it's doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of "Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction" are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin.

At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made...

The attraction now has one animatronic.

I have no clue if it's coming but damn that's a HHN house plot right there. Also check out the trailer when you get the chance.

Mike confirmed that video shoot is for international viewers, pretty much a overview of what HHN is to those who arn't aware what it is.

HHN - Orlando

Rowling created one of the most beloved book and movie franchises of this generation crossing all age groups. Murphy created Glee and American Horror Story, two TV shows that are very popular in the High School-College demographic.
I feel like one has the right to have things done to their liking and the other may be a primadonna.

A house based on the concept of FNaF3 could be really fun and cool (could be an awesome comedy house). I'm still not sure about it being based directly on the game. Perhaps Universal could take the amount of hype it has from being viral and make something much bigger for a small cost, but given his background I'm not so sure.

They could always make a rip off of 5 nights for a comedy house, I'd actually love to see what scary animatronic monsters A&D could come up with. Oh don't get me wrong I think Murphy is being over dramatic over trash but I think UC could deal with him no problem

I really don't think you get how this works. They tried to work with him already -- and they failed. If the guy throws his cards on the table, makes demands Universal (trust me, not A&D) can't meet, and says they aren't negotiable... well, they can't deal with him.

If they could deal with him we'd have seen AHS sooner, if at all. I don't think it's going to happen. And frankly it shouldn't - with the exception of Murder House, the show was all sizzle and no steak.

I didn't know they tried to meet with him before, that changes everything lol. I don't think if should happen either it's just more relevant than most things in the horror spectrum nowadays and wouldn't make for a bad house, I guess we will see what happens. I hope for no IPs period but that's just me

I'd rather have Walking Dead return to soak up crowds and shorten other houses wait times by 10% then have AHS. In the end TWD>AHS on every level including what matters most $$$. TWD will bring in the crowds and thus the money the event needs to continue getting the budget it does. Everyone must realize in the grand scheme of things the last thing we want is a HHN that doesn't pull the crowds. Cause just like in any buisiness if expectations are not met that's when the suits start cutting...

The tough reality is they've screwed themselves over. The base expectation of what HHN should pull is now entirely skewed due to Walking Dead. They'll never be able to top or even meet it with any other property.

Hate isn't wrong in that the suits will misinterpret the numbers and start cutting as a result. Just sucks that they built themselves into such a corner.

I'm certainly with Hate on this one. I really think AHS may have too much red tape to get through. TWD can take the crowds again, meanwhile I can enjoy the other houses(plus TWD), B&T & the other shows while they are still waiting in line for TWD.

Just like last year.

And besides would you really leave that much money on the table?
