So, crazy theory here but with the length of 4.5 minutes, what if the VR experience is a virtual walkthrough of the HHN maze? Sounds about the right length for a mega-house without having the random stops. Would be a great way to promote both HHN and AHS.

This is pretty much what I was thinking, which is why I'm even more stunned that there is not even a hint of an announcement coming today. You really couldn't ask for a much better opportunity to promote everything involved.

It's still morning over there right now, so I suppose there is still a little hope.

Halloween and especially the exorcist are looking awesome. Exorcist is probably my most anticipated IP house just on the fact I have no idea what to expect from it!!! Really really happy

I'm guessing the "experience" might not really get started until 11:00-12:00 Pacific. That's realistically 2:00-3:00 Eastern.

I'm keeping an eye on some AHS boards as well in case something leaks out there first.

John has stated that they won't be announcing anything at SDCC.

Just playing Devil's advocate, but John likes to screw with people sometimes, and technically the VR thing isn't AT SDCC. It's at an off-site location.

Just sayin'

What are the odds that only 1 coast gets AHS? That seems very unlikely.
This conversation? "Yeah..to bad that there isn't a major convention going on in California to make an announcement right now..
Well yeah, there is that...but we're not doing anything there"
Technically they don't really have to do anything though. He could just mean that there are no Universal HHN representatives present.... but it doesn't look too good for the AHS announcement.

Imagine if only 1 coast got AHS... that would probably disappoint a few people.

I doubt this insanely hyped VR experience has anything at all to do with HHN. That would piss off so many AHS fans that it just wouldn't be worth it lol

He also said that Doris Day, the one to be announced; will be exclusive for Hollywood.

It won't be AHS.

Agreed, the maze that is Doris Day will be Freddy vs Jason. One of the clues John gave for the codename is the maze features a revolving piece of scenery that can alter a scene, which would be probably be used for changing the victor of the fight.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I still feel that AHS isn't going to happen, but if it did, I could see it only being in Orlando.

I say that because USH and UOR have different styles with the event. USH tends to be more claustrophobic and use traditional haunt scares. It's more of a haunt event. UOR tends to be more scenic and movie quality. I don't think Murphy would like his vision and his scenery reduced at USH.

Look at all the hype for something so relatively simple. There is a whole flock of people that are excited over a 25 second clip of the vr that is supposed to have clues for the super secret season 6. Universal easily could have rolled the announcement out with this, but instead are going to wait for what exactly... a random Tuesday afternoon when no one is even paying attention?

Not everything revolves around HHN. If AHS is indeed coming it could be that the they didn't want all the marketing money that was put into the VR thing to result in a mixed message. People could easily be confused if they were announced together.

The people at FX are at 1 of the biggest shows in this country to promote AHS (as well as other shows) and you can't see how mutually beneficial the announcement could have been? I don't see how showing vr footage from each season, throwing out season 6 hints, and then also announcing that Universal has picked up the show for HHN is very confusing. Unless I'm mistaken, it's called marketing your product or hyping it up to get people excited. You know how many people go back and watch whatever movies/shows that are appearing at HHN in order to get extra psyched for the event?

The web and people on the ground there are all over the vr thing. Let's see when we get this announcement (assuming we even get AHS) how well the timing is going to be in comparison. Unless they literally wait until September 14th to announce it on tv, I doubt they'll have an opportunity like the 1 they seem to be missing.

So the next announcement won't be taking place on this coast until next week at some point?

Yeah I can see it from that point of view also, but you have to look at it from their point of view. They are focused on the VR thing to promote the show. They've obviously put a lot of marketing effort into that. If they just let the HHN thing tag along with that publicity then there is absolutely the potential for people to get confused. I could easily see people mixing up the message as the VR thing is a preview of the HHN house.

Did you ever think that the time to announce is WITH the IP. AHS hasn't announced the theme for season 6. They aren't announcing it at SDCC. In my mind, announcing the theme AND a house at the same time would make the biggest impact.

Unless what I read is incorrect (and it could be), it said that they aren't announcing the theme until the actual premiere (Sept 14th). Personally I find that if this is true, it is pretty absurd. How will they advertise the show leading up to it without giving away the theme?

Who's to say that we will see any of AHS6 for Horror Nights?

If I was in Universal's shoes; I would have the maze on both coasts be as a tribute house to some of the best scenes from the past five seasons. Atleast in my right mind, that would be what Ryan Murphy would probably restrict them to; which isn't a bad thing actually.

If I were Universal, I'd give both coasts Murder House, Freak Show, Hotel, and Season 6. Then I'd give Hollywood Asylum and Orlando Coven.

I just want to know for sure if AHS is actually coming and if possibly know which seasons they'll be covering. I'd like to rewatch the seasons they decide to use and there isn't really a lot of time left.
