well we we're walking infront of the trike pins down towards the back stage area and then a guard saw us, so we just walked over to him and he helped us find our way out of the area and back into Jurassic park :thumbs:

HTF does this mean well see the removal of the Lost Continent games around the same time?

It's been said before but I'd like to clarify. The Jurassic Park in IOA is not Isla Nubar, or Isla Sorna, it's actually called Isla Adventura; located in Orlando, after the previous two islands. If you watch the Queue video at River Adventure it explains it all.

Huh, I opened IOA and participated in the JP queue line video filming and I never knew this.

I too remember the JP videos saying we were supposed to be on Isla Nublar, the real JP, when the park first opened. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the queue videos and Florida park theme were added to JP a few years after the opening of IOA.

The whole Isla Adventura/Isla Nublar thing has always been pretty inconsistent. In the Discovery Center the island is shown as being shaped exactly like Nublar, while the model in the River Adventure queue looks nothing like Nublar.

I'm glad the nice guard was able to help some poor lost guests Everyone be warned though, there's some not-so-nice guards, too...

That makes a lot of sense. They probably want to get as much 'last' business in that location from the holiday crowds.

Well the filming I participated in was a few months after the park opened and was advertised in the EE Newsletter as the "New Queue Video", so I'm assuming that's when they made the switch. We didn't hear the script for the filming, all we did was load/offload the boat a few times, so I can't really be sure. TBH, I've never been back on JP because I hate rides with drops like that.

My word, this is fascinating news that they created a place and then switched the identity of the place. Personally, I hate the Adventura junk. I have always enjoyed it as Nublar, as I am sure have all other big fans.

In all fairness you have always enjoyed it as Adventura, you just didn't know it. Your sudden knowledge that you assumed it was a different island then it is shouldn't have an affect on your enjoyment level. Also I wouldn't go so far as to extend your feelings out to "all other big fans" as I would hope most of the big fans would know the story behind the island.

The idea of it being a different island stems from a few things. For one it explains why it is in the middle of a theme park. It also deals with the fact that what you see on this island doesn't line up with the other islands for example the existence of a river ride. Also why the welcome center is much smaller, and when you enter on the lower floor instead of a grand lobby you have a hatching nursery.

Creating it's own identity makes it so it can stand on it's own in the storyline. Just look at some of the fits people have throwin about potter (Why is Olivanders there, how is hogwarts in florida, it's stupid to say it's always been there just covered with an enchantment)

The story for our JP is that they do hatching's (discovery center) and treat sick animals (Trike) here, but once the animals are grown up/better they are sent off to the big island. We do of course keep some animals for our river tour. But that tour is more of an advertisement to come to the big park (hence the large display of the big park at it's entrance)

True, but your perception doesn't change what it is and what it is being presented as. You can say you "I hate the Adventura junk" but if you enjoy the island your enjoying it, even if you refuse to recognize that.

I personally would think people on this site would prefer it be Adventura, with all the bickering over how this doesn't make sense or that doesn't make sense. It makes no sense that it be Nublar, it has nothing that Nublar has other then Dinosaurs.

Personally I like the Adventura story because there's no way you can buy that you're on what we saw in the movies. I don't think it's a cop-out, I think it's a great way to avoid the "it's just a theme park" excuse when asking guests to suspend their disbelief. I guess we will see what happens with this new roller coaster, and if it enhances or muddles what they were going for.
