I don't think we really need another E ticket JP ride. A smaller more family friendly ride sure, but I don't think the JP brand is big enough for 2 E Tickets. River Adventure does just fine, and is still a very popular ride in the park.

Bringing Kong back make much more sense. As Kong has always been a huge part of Universal Parks since the beginning. It sounds like he will be coming back, and coming back BIG, which is pretty exciting.

I guess my other issue is RA doesn't feel like a modern e-Ticket ride. The animatronics feel dated, especially since they barely match their film counterparts. If JPRA got a nice big overhaul it could probably breathe a lot of new life into JP.

I don't remember how anyone actually determined this project was Kong, aside from rumor or insider knowledge, so for those in the know is it possible that this ride is being built with the final theme left as an option to be determined later? I can see the overall theme swinging towards Jurassic World or Kong at the last minute based on movie performance next summer. If it is mostly screen based, the story beats could play out the same for the outside portion with the indoor portion still TBD. Kong and Jurassic are similar in terms of location theme so it is plausible that an executive decides to pull the trigger at a later date. Budget the infrastructure and building for this year and put film dev/themeing into next year. It's like when your boss says you have $100 million that needs to be spent before December but your ride costs $150 mil total. What do you do?

I don't know about anyone else, but I said it's Kong because the plans I've seen were labeled as such. I suppose there could have been a major design revision since then that removed Kong from ride, but that seems unlikely given the recent big announcements for his franchise.

Eh, even though it hasn't been officially announced, too many roads lead to Kong. I do hope the Jurassic Park family coaster gets off the ground sooner than later though. A family coaster is something IOA/USF direly needs.

How big is the Mine Train footprint? Is something of that size able to fit in the old Trike Encounter plot?

Trike Encounter is smaller, but not by a significant amount.

If they built beyond the footprint of the Trike encounter by altering some of the park layout (paths, etc) would it be able to fit? Although I admittedly do not know the logistics for something like this, but could they not also build over/around locations like Camp Jurassic? If they incorporated some consistent theming, it could look like trackways leading to different Amber caves, although from what I understand, the Amber Mine concept is dead.

I don't think so, no. The plot is basically landlocked and JP's paths are small enough as is.

Here is an aerial with the 'flyers track highlighted I made a while back.

PteranodonPath.png

As you can see each of the sub-areas are basically locked into place, and there is nowhere to borrow land from. (Just out of frame at the top is the Discovery Center)

Someone posted a map of an altered JP entrance path from the HP side a while ago..it would get rid of the castle instrusion as well as leave room for Trike expansion and bring people closer to the lagoon/front of DC..I will try and find it

They could possibly use some of that space, but they would be limited with what they can do there. Like the kiddy coaster, but not the old amber mine concept talked about previously.

I maintain that they could tear out Pteranodon and begin with a dark ride (in the TE area north) that goes uphill in the east and then outside into an exciting track around the perimeter of CJ hitting another smaller lift hill on the on the southern side and then wiz around the rest of CJ back into a final dark ride ending again in the TE area. Three trains on the track at once would have a far higher capacity than Pteranodon and the old TE combined.

So there... that's my idea.

I guess a ride like that would be fine, but people were complaining because the Mine Train track length got cut. So a coaster even smaller than what we ended up getting would be pretty short.

Although if they build a wooden coaster as once rumored, i'd be all for it.

If they decide to retheme jurassic park to jurassic world, I dont think a woodie will fit that, everything that I saw on set was modern jungle, if that makes any sense.

I always hoped for something similar at USF but I'll take it here.

I really hope Flyers gets axe and the new ride can follow it's path while making full use of the Trike plot.

Yup, and as far as I know, no Roller Coasters are actually in the films park.

They could probably go with the Gyrosphere.

Keep in mind they filmed part of Jurassic World at the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans location which prominently features a large wooden coaster (most of the other major rides are gone).

Believe it or not, they didn't film inside the park, and the backdrop was not visible. They originally planned to film inside the park by the mainstreet area, but they built their own giant mainstreet in the old parking lot. Yankeetrex can elaborate more, I have personally only seen pictures.

Haha, yea, they set up wildlife cameras around the perimeter of the Old Six Flags to keep people out and keep the wildlife in. Unless they cg a coaster in in the old park section of Nublar, we wont be seeing a woodie. All the architecture was modern besides a few bamboo buildings.

The Bamboo buildings with amber around is what I mostly have seen. And that cool Dinosaur skeleton. I won't lie, it really felt like a modern JP and I loved it. It would translate well to the IOA park.. of course, that doesn't solve the ride problem.

It's pretty funny- the wildlife problem at Six Flags must be worse than originally anticipated, because they really did plan to film in there at one point. But apparently coaster wouldn't have been seen then either.
