If you call BGT a amusement park, then you have to call SeaWorld and Animal Kingdom amusement parks as well. They all have the same amount of theming (not including the giant mountain of course)

A lightly themed coaster could be put up fairly quickly. It could serve a number of purposes:
* A desirable thrill attraction for the Universal core demographic (15 to 30) that has been kind of left on the sidelines lately. And it will help to keep them from migrating over to Sea World for coaster kicks.
* A tad late, but still fairly timely, tie in with the JW movies. Along with a major update of the JPRA and the new Raptor (s), this will basically be almost like a new land, and has a lot of marketing possibilities.
* The increased attendance seems to be putting a strain on capacity. Lines have been getting longer the last few years. A fairly fast build coaster will help to ease those capacity issues.
* I'd guess Universal will have a decent themed queue for the attraction, which will help alleviate complaints about a Hulk level theme....And the super themed Potter coaster should also deflect any theming issues for the , and I'm guessing the name & color, Blue Raptor Coaster. .

In my quick example I have excluded the maintenance bay and exterior queue, so those would need space as well.

Sea World maybe but not Animal Kingdom. No huge steel coasters reminding you you’re in a theme park rather than Africa, Asia, etc. They just need to get rid of Dino-Rama.

The JP coaster will probably be very lightly themed, along the Hulk's theming level.

Adding trees would be a huge one up from Hulk.

and the cool part is that they're already there, fully mature. The trees, and water it goes over, is what really adds immersion value to the Loch Ness monster coaster in BGW, with it's Scotland theme.

Yes, nothing says "immersion" like a super out of scale roller coaster train going into Mount Everest.

Everest is actually in the background. The main mountain is the Forbidden Mountain.

Yes plenty of aspects kind of ruin the immersion at some of these parks. But when a park is absolutely full of them it’s not a theme park. Theme parks were invented to get away and move further than State Fair and Six Flags type things. Transporting you to other worlds. I lol’d when I went to Six Flags in New Jersey and the signs in the parking lot were pointing to the direction of the “theme parks.” If that’s a theme park to New Jersey no wonder everyone leaves the state for Disney

Still doesn't change the fact that the trains are horribly out of scale compared to the mountain.

The point was I think Uni/Disney theme park fans kind of delude themselves into thinking a ride doesn't seem like a ride as long as there's some rockwork to be seen. Everest from a distance in no way, shape, or form looks like anything other than a ride.

Jurassic Park IS a theme park. Having a roller coaster is IN theme, rock work or no rock work.

Obviously you haven't been to Tibet. The trains there are 40 stories tall.

I personally love old school BGW. I love just about everything about The Loch Ness Monster.

Wht Needs to happens is a tear down of the discovery center and burger digs , and re-use that space. Jurassic Park is too huge not to be fully utilized especially with the revitalization of the franchise.

I disagree a bit. IOA has always been lacking nice, air conditioned, calm experiences. Pretty much every attraction is either A.) outdoors B.) thrilling, or usually both.

The only exception I can think of is Poseidon's Fury. (I would count Sinbad as partially outdoors). I suppose the Hogwart's Express also counts, but it's not strictly within IOA

The Discovery Center could use some upgrades, to be sure, but it is a fun area to get out of the heat and has some kinda? educational aspects to it.
