not to be a party pooper, but I've been waiting for a Hyper Coaster to come to Florida ever since I rode Millenmium Force back in 2002. When one finally comes, it comes to Sea World? My wife won't step foot in that park for "reasons", and to be honest I'm not crazy about going there either. I'm just kinda pissed that out of all the parks, this is the one that gets a hyper coaster.

Well, Universal is trying to get away from the coaster stigma and Disney certainly won't build a Hyper so what are we left with? I mean, where are you expecting a Hyper to be built? Fun Spot doesn't have enough land for a Hyper and probably couldn't fund one either.

Sea world and Busch are the only two main parks i'd expect a Hyper to be built. The other parks aren't shooting for the extreme coaster audience. At all.

That's sad, because I still think the coasters at IOA are some of the best in the State.

^Having a hyper at Seaworld leaves room for a Giga to be put in at BGT. Do I see it in the near future? No, but leaves that option. BGT would be a better fit for a larger coaster anyway.

BGT's next coaster will probably be a RMC redo of Gwazi. Of which I would LOVE!

Would love that as well. I have been wondering, could a zero-g roll be done on a RMC redo?

Considering most of the RMC redos have zero-g rolls/barrel rolls of some sort, yes it can be done. However when it comes to Gwazi, the longer it rots in place the less I feel a RMC make-over is happening. After all every RMC make over's have been done on coasters that were operational until they closed for their redo. Not only is Gwazi SBNO, but one side has been closed longer then the full closure.

If something RMC related is happening, I see them flattening Gwazi compleately and just building a new RMC coaster from scratch. Though I also think a B&M hyper/giga is more likely a replacement.

Does anyone think this move by the owners (investment company) is done to highten the visitors going trough the turnstyles for about 3 years (that is mostly the effect of this kind of investmensts) and try to sell it in that time? Or are they taking an interest and want to make the parks a succes like comcast did with Universal?

RMC retracks coasters traditionally as well. It's much rumored they are the the ones redoing Twisted Twins at Kentucky Kingdom that has sat SBNO for several years.

There is however a big difference.....Twisted Twins has a steel support structure.

Thank you SeaWorld!
Just got back from Carowinds and riding Fury, INCREDIBLE, this is the coaster I have been waiting for since riding Apollo in Williamsburg, love these rides with lap bars, to arrive in Florida just had to wait for the SW parks to build one down here.

Anyone notice that the layout is almost exactly the same as Magnum XL 200 at Cedar Point except for the turn around and then end!

Let's think about this for a sec. Given the new TEA numbers, SeaWorld has took a beating lately. The declines were evident before Blackfish, but 2014 was tough. We know that attendance is up a bit so far this year from the earnings call a couple of weeks back. The TEA also so us that after parks named Disney or Universal they have three of the largest parks in the county before you hit the Cedars and Knotts, overall with 4 of the top 20 parks. Yet, you'd think they were just decimated.

I see Universal pushing Orlando in a direction where It becomes nessisary to segment trips there into a Disney Trip and an Universal and everything else trip. For the moment, Universal has hurt SeaWorld more than anyone else as it's demanded the days away from Disney segment but with proper positioning, it can be positioned to be the second major component of the Universal and every thing else trip as Universal becomes a two or more day destination.

Additionally, there's so much growth potential outside of San Diego and Orlando. San Antonio has much potential and I bet you'll see a major focus there soon as Texas explodes in population. I see them duplicating the SeaLife/Lego Discovery Center model with a SeaWorld/Sesame St. Model in markets like St. Louis and Nashville. And...there's the potential overseas opportunities like the UAE.

I see SeaWorld shoring itself up and going after properties like privately owned Herchend where ownership is up in the years and score two fantastic regional parks like Dollywood and Silver Dollar City along with other diversified properties that limit exposure from its animal based parks.

*Yawn* same ol same old from B&M. They really need some more inspiration in their layouts. Looks like another low-substance airtime machine that brings absolutely nothing else to the table. You'd think they'd go the Skyrush or I 305 route with the theme of a speed animal. Even a launch since B&M does those in house now...

As I said in the other thread (HTFs love-letter to Mako ), this is a perfectly fine Hyper for SeaWorld too start out with.

You have to remember this is a market without any Hypers at all and Sea World is basically competing with themselves. Starting low on this one gives them room to build up to a giga in future coasters at SW and Busch without diving right in head first needlessly.

What is wrong with a classic B&M Hyper?

We know: 1)It's going to provide a ton of airtime and 2) It's going to be smooth

Not everything needs to rattle the foundation of coaster building

I agree, the simplicity of it is cool and since a lot of people seem thrilled about this ride, I find they made the best choice. Also, the probably did not want to spend that much money ... so basically this is Seaworld being cheap and yet we get something that will be amazing.

I'm just over B&M's essentially predictable hypers. They can be so much more creative, and while it's impressive for the area they almost all ride exactly the same , minus the few twisty elements they seem to randomly interchange at the same moments on each ride.

They are as creative as the parks who contract them want them to be or can afford. I'm sure if you had $20-$30 million and wanted them to build something more unique, they'd be happy to oblige. SeaWorld needed good, fun, reliable, high capacity (and NOW) and this fits the bill. Most guests would have no clue if this was EXACTLY the same coaster that another park has, let alone that it is similar to some of their other hyper coasters, they'll just know it's fun to ride.

I've watched the videos a couple of times now and it shares many similarities with Nitro (which I have ridden more than 100 times) and I'm excited for it because it will be a good ride.
