They've been selling replica babies in stores for a long time. I've never heard of anyone being offended.

It's a messaging thing. That's the, not a concern or issue, just point. It's all just incongruous.

Calling them a plushie or a doll, which is what they are, wouldn't raise any eyebrows. World of Disney could sell the exact same product as a plushie and it would be great. But, the moment you start saying, "We are visiting a foreign people and you can buy their offspring," the story starts getting a little off-putting for some. We all logically know what's going on; pushing a story that can be uncomfortable and contradictory to the message is unnecessary.

It's a plushie. So just call it a plushie.

Jeez guys. Please don't bring politics into theme parks. People go to Pandora to get away from that kind of stuff. Look at it as an escape. A fairy tale. I can't stand to see great pieces of architecture and masterful designed sets get degraded due to political opinions. Just appreciate the art that is theme parks.

Um... we are watching pics and vids of the first people to go to Pandora so to make any kind of statement about why they go there is being a bit absurd.

But peoplemdo certainly look to art to reveal the workings of the world around them and to discover truths they may have otherwise missed.

You tried to say politics has no place in art and I resisted the urge to bite my thumb at you.

Omg...that wasn't what I was trying to say at all. Art is very heavily inspired by politics. I'm talking about a land in a theme park where you can go to escape that stuff, and be in an incredibly designed place, that you can't see anywhere else.

Back to Pandora itself, looking at the nighttime images, and the thing I will say in this pedigree, is that I am not basing my opinions on the images for the nighttime. I believe, that it is going to be good that I go in, if I do; more open minded, as I was blown away from Hogwarts at night, more-so in person than just seeing a couple of images.

Plus, Orlando Attractions commented that it's not finished yet, so I am holding off any further comment on the nighttime aspects, until the land opens and that I see it in person.

I will say I'm very impressed by Pandora. I am a huge foliage lover and this really does appeal to my plant obsession. I might be the minority here, but I actually like the blending of the fake and real plants. It gives it a nice foreign / alien feel.

I am holding back on my thoughts of the fake plants, as I think it may be better to just..in a sense, see it in person as opposed to basing the plants on videos this time.

In-fact, this is probably going to be the same route that I go on when it comes to Nintendo, and that I will hold off until I enter the land at wherever it may be, so I can get a genuine opinion.

Now, some may say; that what I am saying, is outlandish as I can bash the Guardian's facade for day's, and that you would be right. But I am basing it off of different things.

Na'vi River Journey, looks stunning in the terms of that I can see it clearly with the indoor environment being controlled. I do believe that it will most likely look much better in person, but I am excited nevertheless.

Most of my fears from before, are theoretically gone for Pandora. But, I am still hesitant on a few factors, discussed by people here, and some other things that I won't quite mention yet, so I'll be the cautiously optimistic in this group.

A few things:

Attractions Magazine is saying the light-up steps areas are not going to exist. They didn't work when tested on a larger scale. This sucks because it was one of the defining features of the nighttime Pandora preview videos. They also said a lot of the nighttime lighting and sound is incomplete at the moment, so the previews aren't completely true to the final (or hopeful final) land.

The nighttime show, which is the projections onto the mountains, is apparently "not anywhere near being done" according to Theme Park Review.

Some small tidbits, with some special thanks to Orlando Attractions Magazine;

it seems like for Flight of Passage; in the technological terms, there seems to be a form of an Air Bladder that is figuratively used for the attraction itself, inside the area of the legs. I would assume this is to simulate you being on the Banshee, in a way; making you have the sense of feeling the creature.

I also got confirmation, that the walls do rise out, up and out of the way of sight.

But why drag the bloggers through the unfinished night areas then?

They had plenty of daytime stuff to show.

I'd like to see you ask the same question when volcano bay previews are happening.

Since merchandise has been a contentious subject in here, here's a fairly extensive walkthrough of the major gift shop and its offerings...

Again, I think it looks fine, and nobody can say Disney didn't come up with a huge variety of items for all sorts of different interests. I'm in for the cheap buttons; I like things which are attraction-specific souvenirs, and they seem like a nice budget-friendly alternative to the more expensive pins. Beyond that, I think my money will be staying in my wallet, but that's okay! I believe some of the stuff on display there could prove to be quite popular with others.

Nah, but I'd be interested in the floating Unobtainium display... if it weren't likely to be wildly expensive!
