Alright guys, I don't post here ever, but this thread needs a little help. I don't work for disney, but I'm pretty sure I've got this figured out. Iger has CONFIRMED that we are riding on a Banshee, (and there was that little leak that we won't speak of). Essentially the "Chair Links" and the banshee animatronics are divided in half by the lift gate. We know for a fact we will "feel the banshee breathing beneath us." This is because the chair link is most likely equipped with air bladders, etc. When the gate lifts I would expect some sort of flashing light to distract the rider from the vehicle sliding into the animatronic (similar to the transportation effect on Posiedons Fury). The effect should be a seamless transition from a "waking state" to "piloting your avatar body aboard a banshee."

I did a very quick sketch to sort of work through the idea for everyone.

Depends on how you view the first Sherlock Holmes and Chipmunk sequel.

I agree with something like this. If you look at the picture below. The banshees heads look like they are in a hidden (inactive) state pointing down. So i agree there is probably some blending into the on banshee as the wall retracts.

I just want to make one thing clear: Flight of Passage is an E-ticket. This ride is going to knock your socks off and blow you away unlike anything you've yet to experience.

Once again, it must be said: this is NOT Soarin 2.0.

I agree with something like this. If you look at the picture below. The banshees heads look like they are in a hidden (inactive) state pointing down. So i agree there is probably some blending into the on banshee as the wall retracts.

I was looking for that image! Yes! It's right there in plain sight!

And there will definitely be some cool transition of 'linking to the avatar', the faux wall will roll up in front of us. So the banshee head will probably rise up in sync with it.

(Reaching a little) but I would also not be surprised to find out that the robotic looking link chairs have some sort of UV-light hidden tiger-stripe paint scheme, similar to the banshee's skin patterns. It would become visible once the two have connected, fully selling the illusion that the vehicle has transformed into a living creature.

Looking at the leaked image of the RV again, I'm almost certain your thoughts are correct. Well done!

The closest thing to a franchise was Hunger Games and that was a month prior. And care or not, he isn't stupid. His ego does have self preservation instincts. Running up against Star Wars will eviscerate his movie. Unless SW8 falls off the map and does like 300 million domestic, theres no way he or Fox would go head to head with 9.

This might not mean much to some but felt it was something...a relative (trying not to be specific) is a has seen unused footage from the segment on Pandora. A lot of footage was shot and of course not used due to them wanting to keep some things under wraps. Long story short (I'm being very vague about their position etc for a reason, PM me if you want more info) a good chunk was described to me so I'm up for some yes or no questions if anyone is interested.

You're a little early with the Hunger Games. That didn't come out til 2012.

Looks like Avatar 2 is officially delayed once again, now into 2019 and beyond.

Let's hope something else comes along to fuel the hype train as the movies evidentially aren't...

I'm really not feeling that song in the background on Nav'i River Journey during the nightline clip and as for FOP, the lack of a back support and seat beat tends to lead me to believe this is not intense in the least. I have a feeling the first 10 sseconds are going to be the thrill when everything gets revealed and then it will be mellow. Also saying something is an E-ticket doesn't mean anything. Soarin is classed as an E ticket and that's extremely mellow.

With the magic of photoshop I was able to increase the brightness on some of the clips from the previews so we can have a better look at the loading and unloading area. I personally think it'll be cool.
