A lot of wealthy house wives watch daytime tv. It's not lowest common donominator by any sense. These are also the folks that plan family vacations. It's a smart marketing push.

So it's not a banshee, but more of a "I'm riding a banshee but in virtual reality but its not virtual reality."

The glasses might look funny, but it looks like they'll have a pretty wide field of vision.

I've mostly stayed out of this thread because I largely don't care...but woof that ride system is super disappointing.

While I don't doubt what you say. I disagree that watching a show based solely on gossip isn't the lowest common denominator. US weekly of today is the Enquirer of yesterday and is as useless and as dumb as it gets. My wife would be considered a "wealthy housewife"- yet there's no way she'd watch it- although plenty of her vapid peers do.
But yes- it's a smart marketing push. I was just saying that what we're seeing is "basic" and "stuff we've seen before"- because they aren't showing it for the Mickey Extreme audience- they are doing it for the housewife frauline.

This one really irked me too. I really hope those rumors of Guardians replacing the Universe of Energy are false too.

Honestly, I don't know why but after having talked about this out loud I'm actually a bit more at peace with Avatar's addition. Like realistically, I can't think of a legitimate reason to complain right now outside of the fact that it's an IP and Avatar is an odd choice due to how long ago it was. Because plot wise it fits where it's going and it's an incredible visual experience so it should look amazing, so if it works then that'll be great.

I do think though that what's happening to EPCOT more than anything upsets me though, and probably for more valid reasons. I don't even dislike Guardians and EPCOT is what I hope would have been the one land we wouldn't see this in.

Think Mission Space, when your at the Space Training Center and you're in the simulator but towards the end of the ride the line between real a fake get blurred and you're pulling back on the stick so you don't fall over the edge.

That helps.

So from what I read you are on a "link chair" that links you to your avatar. So no, you won't be riding on a banshee, your "Avatar" will. This explains why the queue is a science lab. You aren't actually soaring on the mountains, your avatar is.

It actually makes sense based on the film's story. So I'm "ok" With this.

I was wondering what Cameron was talking about with his comments yesterday about "taking a break". Now it makes sense. I wonder if Disney is upset that the potential synergy they expected in 2011 is now out the window.

Holy crap, 4 sequels in the works?!? Hopefully they'll be good, but looking at JC's sequel track record it could be hit or miss.

lol what? JC has never made a bad sequel. In fact the sequels he has made...T2 and Aliens are arguably better than the originals.

T2 maybe.

Aliens is nowhere near as good as ALIEN.

You could if you self produced the largest grossing movie of all time.
