But with all the problems around the resort, I don't think it's worth getting upset about not getting a proper expansion.

Disagree. Fixing DHS completely is paramount to fixing the woes of the resort. It and Future World are the biggest problem areas.

I'm not arguing that. Star Wars is a huge step in that direction. A lackluster Carsland isn't.

It's kinda like when I went to eat ice cream the other day, and I realllly wanted air-whipped cream on top but all I had was Cool Whip. I feel like you would just go with Cool Whip and call it a day while I waited until I had the time to go out and buy some real whipped cream so my ice cream was perfect.

Except, you know, that's not the way Disney thinks. They think, "The rubes won't know the difference. Let them eat cake."

If you disagree with their thinking, why do you continue to post with the same logic? All of your posts in the last few pages have pretty much been "something is better than nothing". As Tyler said, i'd rather wait for a better, more perfected idea to come around rather than settle for a half-assed one.

So what would the plan be for Carsland? I know they were thinking of dumbing down the land but someone mentioned turning RSR from an E ticket to a D ticket.... What's the skinny on that?

I really cant stand the thought of a watered down Cars land over a PIXAR type land. And personally In my opinion I don't think Cars deserves a whole land. I would love to just see RSR come to DHS. That way you can have more room for other attractions. Like a Monsters Inc. or Incredibles dark ride?

The street with shops is really pretty but luigis and maters are kiddy rides with awful capacity.

If they do build another Carsland, Luigi's will be one of the things cut. Without a doubt. So far, that ride has been a nightmare for the park in many different ways.

Which is funny, as you would of thought they would of learnt about these issues from having the same ride system years ago. Its the one thing in carsland that has puzzled me since they announced it as they hated it when they first did it but they went ahead and did it again.

It's not the same. Disney is looking to give you the least possible, which means no Cars Land. I'm looking for the most possible, which includes a Cars land

Which sucks, because it's super fun.

Pressler-era Disneyland was the same way. Pre-Potter Universal was as well. Every theme park goes through a slump it's the nature of the business. I have faith that that with time WDW will get new management, and to think that they're doomed forever is just pessimistic and foolish. And when the resort does turn around, I'd rather it do the DHS redo the right way, rather than be stuck with a cheap imitation Cars Land, a shoddy relic of its dark days that can't be fixed, a la Grizzly Peak and Mickeys Fun Wheel.

Why did you pick 2 good rides for your example?

I realize it's not ever going to get better. I just realize there's a good 20 more years of what we have now.

I'm sure people said the same thing about DCA, Disneyland in the '90's, USO before 2008, and even USH. Look at those places now...

No, because of them are completely different animals (There's also no such thing as USO). All of them are small, contained places that only require attraction upgrades. WDW requires an entire resort upgrades. Transportation, infrastructure, resorts, and DTD are all broken and require a crap ton of work, which is work none of these other places require.

As long as WDW continues to make a ton of money and people aren't dying like they did at Disneyland, it's not going to change.

Which is a shame because it seems like Disney esepecially in MK is more concerned with the paint job on most buildings instead of expanding capacity.

That doesn't mean the right people won't come along and fix it, no matter what the scope of the project is.

And the way I see it, the fact that we are even having a conversation about a Star Wars Land/Cars Land combo proves you wrong about TDO.

Definitely. As fun as the thing looks, it's pretty much clear evidence that some rides were just meant to stay dead.
