That doesn't mean the right people won't come along and fix it, no matter what the scope of the project is.

And the way I see it, the fact that we are even having a conversation about a Star Wars Land/Cars Land combo proves you wrong about TDO.

I think Skip is refering to the fact that, the scope of the project required to turn WDW around is far too large, that it would take a huge amount of time and resources that no single management can do. So therefore would require several good management teams in a row to get the whole resort back on track, which is unlikely at the current rate. At least I believe that is what he is saying.

Right, but we aren't in the 'whole resort' thread, we are talking about Hollywood Studios...one park, which arguably needs the most help at this point. Could one management team fix the whole place? Probably not. Could they focus on where they're lacking and make a start? Absolutely. And I'd rather them really make a start, not have to work around a cruddy Cars Land that was already in place.

Disney World should just put Mickey on the side of each intersection begging for change. Over time they will get that 4-5 BILLION dollars its needs to bring back its luster... It actually may be quicker this way as well. Which gives me an idea...

Surprised they haven't thought about installing a Sunpass style sensor so once you drive onto Disney property they automatically take out the toll from your pretty little bracelet

Don't give them ideas, I can imagine it being possible to pay for parking with one of those bands at some point!

I think it would be cool if disney expanded Star Wars into all 4 parks and connect it with a hogwarts express type of attraction and finally make a monorail connecting all parks but no way tdo does that they'll just build another hotel with the money.
Cars land and or radiator springs racers coming to Florida will hurt dca.

I really don't think it will anymore than Potter on both coasts will hurt either Universal park..

And don't the monorails cost $1,000,000 a mile haha (old Disney rumor)

That'd be too much Star Wars...it could fit nicely into DHS and MK, but I don't see it cohesively working in Epcot or DAK.

Also...the Radiator Springs coming to DHS wouldn't do hardly anything to hurt DCA. That park is in far better shape than DHS at the moment.

I honestly would rather just have Radiator Springs come to DHS and not the whole Cars Land. I feel like there's a lot more Disney flims/owned franchises that deserve a ride or attraction at Disney. The smart thing to do would be to bring a decent sized Star Wars expansion(with a couple E-Tickets) and bring RSR by itself to the park. Also I remember there was a rumor that the Beauty and the Beast show was going to be replaced by a dark ride? Is this still true or a rumor?

I know that Alan Menken is working on a stage version of Tangled. That, however, may just end up on the cruiseship.

I love the ambience and atmosphere and theming of Carsland... But luigis is terribly flawed and maters is an awfully low capacity kid ride. I don't even know what the cosy cone was/is.

What I'm saying is... Is if only RSR came to WDW I wouldn't be devastated... As beautiful as Carsland is to look at (especially at night) it's not essential.

I'm really torn on this... I'd love RSR at WDW but there doesn't seem to be anything sacred anymore it'd be nice to have one off rides again... Selfishly because I do visit both coasts and if they cloned it would it be a dumbed down version.... Like DCA's TOT?

I think DHS. Just needs something... Anything.. even if its not Carsland it needs some TLC!

DHS needs a lot. I think a replacement show for Little Mermaid, a family dark ride in Soundstage 1, the Star Wars E ticket, Radiator Springs Racers, another family ride off of Sunset Blvd, and a dark ride to replace American Idol/Sounds Dangerous. Then I think this park would be in much better shape.

Oh, and axe the hat already!

And by then Universal will have their third park open. Actually, scratch that. Universal will have their fourth park open by then.

I think Universal learns a lesson from Disney and stops at 3 parks and a water park. Fourth gate is too much for a resort to handle which is why we have two half day parks (AK and MGM) instead of a good one day park. They needed to perfect MGM before opening AK and they didn't.

I read somewhere (either here or the Magic boards) that the most recent plan is opening up a Star Wars land in phases: Mos Eisley Cantina and Indoor Jedi Training Academy first, followed at some point by an E-ticket. Is this still a plan? Because that seems like a horribly backward way of doing it.

That would be akin to Universal unvealing a Wizarding World of Harry Potter consisting only of Olivander's and The Three Broomsticks, with an exciting E-ticket promised for a year or two or three later.

This, IMO, has been bandied about, but seems more like wishful thinking of fans wanting something now instead of later.

That sounds about right. But I guess I can't blame them for desperately wanting something new and soon in DHS. It's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that by the time Star Wars Land and Avatar Land are built, Universal will likely have completed Diagon Alley, Jurassic Park Expansion, Lorax Ride, and the Toon Lagoon re-do.

You forgot the KidZone revamp, Kong replacement/overlay of Disaster, plans made for LC, and the mystery project for the MIB/Springfield plot :sneaky: 2017-2018 is likely when Avatar and Star Wars will both open. The 3rd gate for Universal will likely be going through the hype machine by then
