Any guesses to why Universal is taking so long to announce this attraction?

Probably the same reason why they’re taking so pong to announce any more details about the Potter coaster or Nintendo World details.

I don’t know what the reason is but it’s probably the same.

Which bothers me a bit. The Bourne series are starting to get stale and the last one didn't do so great. Is UC really gonna captilize on a franchise that is gonna stale very soon? If anything , Universal really needs more its own franchises for its films since F&F isn't gonna be around any longer too.

The last one did really good business. It’s the second highest grossing film in the series. Still, I agree it’s getting stale. Each film is no different than the last.

The difference is we already know what IPs they are. But, for this replacement we just have rumors.

I feel we'll get more Potter details before we get more details on this...It is a rather obscure project to say the least...Maybe it's another coca-cola freestyle stand?

Technically, we do have some things knowing of so-far.

We know that the replacement will be atleast from what it seems, something similar to Terminator 2 in that it uses live actors, effects, and screen-based imagery.

We also know they are having to expand the armory, which will possibly mean that there may be more actors involved with this show than T2's 5 characters, John, Sarah, T800, T1000, and Kimberly Duncan.

And that there are two IP's that are more likely than anything so-far. Those being the 007 *James Bond* Franchise and the Bourne franchise.

Bourne, is more likely out of this, because it seemed to be more relating to if Universal could get the rights to use the characters for the films (and possibly as rumored, a show), but from what we can see; Annapurna is most likely getting the Film rights, which would leave Universal in the Bourne franchise.

And just because it would be Bourne, it doesn't mean that it has to be the Matt Damon character. In all reality, I actually could see them pull stuff from Bourne Legacy and some elements from Jason Bourne to spin it off into a new show, without having to get Matt Damon (or Paul Greenglass) involved with the project.

I do agree that Bourne may sound illogical, but I am open to see what they could do, depending if they rely more on physical action than screen-based action for the new show.

Because Legacy was clearly the most beloved of the series.

I just don't see them wanting to tackle anything with Matt Damon in the aspect of Bourne right now, especially with some of the more..controversial statements he's been saying since his press touring for Downsizing.

I would also assume you would have to sign new contracts with him, and that he can possibly cost a lot more money than he is worth right now.

The second part I agree but the first part, that will pass. He deserves the criticism he’s getting now but I doubt this will last by the time this attraction happens, if it is Bourne.

I honestly wouldn't mind a "best of" action moments from Universal films...There are so many good ones...

If Babe isn’t included in those moments, it will be the worst attraction in Universal history.

How is Jason Bourne going to sell merchandise compared to T2? Also, it’s not iconic enough.

I wish they would just use an original IP created specifically for this show?

A Bond-esque comedy/spy stunt show.

It would probably sell more merch than Bourne.

this might have been covered already so please disregard if so...

could universal potentially be waiting to see opening weekend box office results for a franchise's sequel with the new pacific rim? March 2018 is not too far away. John Boyega is up and coming... Star Wars fame and all. can USF handle transformers and jaegers? motion theater with actors and additional screens. we could co-pilot a jaeger on tour, something goes wrong - cuz duh - and kaiju emerge from the ocean and battle ensues ... return victorious. exit to gift shop where there are lots of jaeger merch and collectibles to be sold.

second thought - spy comedy action adventure, could we see something along the likes of SPY with Melissa McCarthy?

imo bond nor bourne are the right path for this new attraction. as mentioned bourne is winding down with no mention of another outing and damon has thrown around not coming back. bond is about to change too with craig stepping down after the 2019 bond movie.

finally (ill stop typing in a minute) - plop dreamworks theater here and include kungfu panda or how to train. revamp shrek for secret life of pets.

just my thoughts. :)

Didn’t we already go through with this discussion a few pages ago? There are plenty of attractions in the parks based on properties that don’t sell merchandise compared to others.

I mentioned it before: a “Kincaid Production” of a Spy film in the same comedic vein as Wild Wild West would be stellar.
