My money's on Spongebob and How To Train Your Dragon. I know they've been veering away from Dreamworks, but really what else would fit? Some could say Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but that's more boy oriented and I definitely think they want to have something both genders can enjoy. Outside of Despicable Me, Illumination has nothing. Lorax is going to IOA and do we really think Hop will get a ride? Illumination does have an untitled film coming out early 2016, but by then Kidzone construction would be in full swing and the movie could bomb. Universal made a huge mistake by not putting Despicable Me in Kidzone, a dark ride would have been a major success. Not complaining since Minion Mayhem is still a pretty good ride, but even if it meant holding onto Jimmy Neutron (a ride I personally liked) a little longer I would have been fine.

Interesting you say TMNT, Nickelodeon currently has a show (which is one of their most popular shows currently on) Based on TMNT, its a new version.

Like I mentioned, even though there's the new show, I have a feeling Universal wants to go with something all genders can enjoy.

I don't get what that has to do with me saying Universal probably wants to go with something both genders can enjoy.

Fairly Odd Parents- The second longest running Nicktoon, behind Spongebob

The Penguins of Madagascar

Possibly some Rugrats and Neutron

Ninja Turtles

Dora

Bubble Guppies and or Max and Ruby

And other Nickelodeon stuff, such as the return of the Slime Geyser, The old Nickelodeon sign from the studios, take the Nickelodeon benches out of storage. At USH, they had a whole Nickelodeon Blast themed area.

1. Nickelodeon treats the Fairly Odd Parents like crap, not gonna happen.

2. Madagascar is at Busch Gardens

3. Outdated

4. See my response above

5. Maybe a show

6. Not happening.

lets come up with a realistic list of 4 prospects that universal could possibly use that A) is not currently being used by a rival park B) is current C) not outdated D) that the whole family would enjoy what options does that leave them with?

I'd also like to point out to those of you saying Nickelodeon i'm not expert or insider (far from it) but if im not mistaken they are owned by Viacom who owns its own theme park in paramount parks. I doubt that they will get anything else nickelodeon related. NOW im not sure if this is a Disney/Marvel universal type deal where universal might still have a contract to certain properties pertaining to the nickelodeon brand but as others have stated above... Nickelodeon does a terrible job holding on or maintaining good IP (currently)

Apparently im outdated they no longer have a park still the contracts remain and viacom does a terrible job with its properties so i still doubt it

Yeah, that's why realistically speaking the only Nickelodeon franchises I think will happen are Spongebob for a ride and Dora for a show aimed at preschool under. Spongebob has mass appeal and Dora is still a hit with young kids.

Don't get your hopes up for Dreamworks. It's been faintly whispered by several insiders that UOR's negotiations with them fell through. Additionally, there's a Madagascar show at Busch Gardens right now, so that's definitely not happening.

The Paramount parks were sold to Cedar Fair a couple of years ago, and all Nickelodeon themes and references were removed. Most of them were replaced by Peanuts characters lol. Nickelodeon, to my knowledge, is still owned by Viacom (who owns Paramount) but they no longer have theme park presence besides in the Mall of America. Maybe a deal could be made.

EDIT: never mind, didn't read the bottom part there

Everybody's been throwing around random ideas and IPs, so why not throw one way out of left field? The franchise is ridiculously popular, and a merchandise machine!

But on a serious note, the two IPs that make the most sense to me:

SPONGEBOB. SCOOBY-DOO.

I love TMNT, but with Transformers already at the park, they don't need another boy-friendly ride.

Truth be told, I really don't see the point in speculating on about what could be happening to the KidZone anymore until we get more information from insiders. If you look back in the thread, we've already pretty much discussed every remotely possible property that needed to be discussed. I wouldn't want this thread to go on in circles...

Angry Birds will be dead by the time the Angry Birds movie is out.
