Two rumor possibilities from Parkscope...Redo of Kidzone that they're excited about....Now, Universal maybe acquiring rights to Rings/Hobbit....My calculated guess would be as mentioned above, namely Hobbits in place of Kidzone & Rings in IOA or Third Gate. Jungle Skip is being too coy & quiet when Hobbits are mentioned. Plus Hobbits were animated in the past.

Interesting take... Now, that way, I could see LotR fitting even better at UOR. Hobbiton in KidZone and another part of the universe represented in Toon Lagoon. They don't even have to be connected since the world of Middle Earth is so vast and spread out. And that way the franchise could be well represented, and both areas would be unique enough that it would be justified to have LotR in both parks.

Its not Hobbiton in Kidzone for two reasons...

1 - Hobbit will come with LOTR from Tolkien estate, so that means that it wouldn't be a different IP or something new they found out today because they were excited about it last week.

2 - Its an ANIMATED series, not as bing as HP, LOTR or Star wars, but its a "new' direction for Universal

DreamWorks Animation Franchises (Shrek, Madagascar, HTTYD, Kung Fu Panda - they already have a relationship)
Classic Toons (reuse the old Toon Lagoon cut-outs)

Ideally they would keep E.T. and Animal Actors on Location! (both could be considered as part of Hollywood if they were to give the KidZone replacement a single unifying theme)

As of 2010, Curious George was supposed to be an Illuminations reboot, so if that was anywhere near as successful as Despicable Me, it could stay/be updated.

Fievel and Barney could probably do with a retheme/replacement, as could Woody Woodpecker (is he still the mascot of Universal Studios parks?), but having a coaster like Woody's is useful in the same way as Barnstormer is.

Ideally they would get to use the land behind Curious George, but I'm sure I've read on here that it was not something they were looking at."

Still don't see why everyone is stuck with an animated property here...I think the idea of a kids only section is going to disappear and we will see this area become a new land of some kind connecting with the MIB/Simpsons plot

Technically, it had a few movies on DVD. This is one property that keeps on coming up in all of my thoughts. A sci-fi/future area could be pretty fun and would be a good way to bridge the gap between Springfield and MIB. The animation style perfectly meshes with Springfield and who wouldn't want to go on the Hypnotoad ride.

They just cancelled Futurama for a 2nd or 3rd time. I can't imagine that being the type of property that would get Uni to spend millions on redeveloping an area for.

Futurama might get picked up again like it was last time. Regardless, right now they have a relationship with Matt Groening / Fox, so it's definitely a possibility and not something to be easily dismissed.

I really wish Universal was getting this! A friggin Warp Speed coaster??!! https://www.nerdist.com/2014/02/concept-art-for-the-star-trek-section-of-paramounts-new-theme-park/ And the more I think about it: DreamWorks Is definitely a huge option for the KidZone. I mean the opportunity of attractions/shows is endless with all the successful IP's it has. You got: HTTYD(sequels coming), Shrek(Already tons of sequels and rumored to be a 5th movie), The Croods(sequel coming), Kung Fu Panda(sequels), Madagascar(sequels), Rise of the Guardians(sequel on the way I believe). And some new fairly popular IP's in : Mr. Peabody & Sherman and The Penguins of Madagascar. I also didn't realize all the other different IP's connected to DreamWorks: Gladiator, Real Steel, War of the Worlds, and the upcoming Need for Speed.
