A cool ride is a cool ride. It doesn't matter what the IP is, and I think people are getting too hung up on that. I remember when people were crying over Harry Potter having a big presence and it wasn't worth using the space for that IP... as it didn't have staying power, and wasn't big enough like Star Wars and would be a bust because the series was ending... Well, we know how that argument turned out.

I've asked a few times, but I'll try again. Someone mentioned they had seen plans for a F&F attraction that was planned for Orlando once, I'm just wondering what those plans were like... Was it like TT?

I agree and disagree. Yes, a cool ride is a cool ride no matter what the IP is. I have never seen mummy, but I love the ride. However, the latest trend for Uni has been to use IPs they can sell unique merchandise and sometimes food options. So the IP has to have those things in mind when being picked for Uni.

Great point I never thought of that. What would you sell for merch? Cars, vin desal action figures and gasoline to drink. The cars might sell but it's a hunger games sinario

Could work if they could do a combination of F&F and Matchbox or Hot Wheels.

I'm not totally feeling a F&F area nor ride, but I'm not a huge car guy.

There's no guarantee they're going for a kid property for KidZone

This. While Kodos & Kang was a nice kid-friendly addition, I suspect KidsZone's fate will be geared more towards the "family-friendly" crowd as to the "kiddie" crowd. Besides, there's really not a lot of children franchises worthy of an entire land that isn't already in Universal or owned by Disney.

And in addition to that, I think they're also underestimating the power of cars. Fast ones.

Well yeah by kids stuff I meant family stuff. Having a kiddie land like seaworld and Busch would be pointless because having only stuff for kids with a height restriction for tall people would defeat the entire purpose of the land. A fast and furious ride for the whole family to enjoy? I don't see it

No more Kidzone, What they will put in their will be something for the whole family to enjoy, not just a huge plot dedicated to kids

Obviously they will create merchandise for it, but to an extent it isnt needed. Is it desired? yes. Is it a great opportunity for increase revenue? Yes. Is it mandatory? No.

A test track/hypercoaster like ride will bring in the masses. Those masses will buy merchandise at Marvel, HP, Kong and DM.

Youre right. It is tough to see F&F ride, A movie about illegal racing, robbery, death, sex, to be acceptable for a whole family. The point of bringing up F&F was to say that due to the symmetrical growth seen at USH and USO, It can be believed that Orlando will get a F&F ride soon. For my money, It will not be at Kidzone - it will be the next expansion at Universal Studios over at the MIB/Mysterplot area. Kidzone will be family oriented, not kid oriented, and it will be based on a great IP. TMNT imo is one we should be looking closley at since there is action, a new movie franchise coming out directed by Michael Bay (Director of TF), it is family oriented and appeals to the family

Who knows; it's just concept art. But if it was like the outdoor portion of Test Track or RSR, then that would be family-friendly and pretty cool. I'd like it. But, I would also like a slow, omnimover-style, dark ride (for whatever property) that is not only family-friendly, but also non-restrictive (or less so than something with high speeds). That would definitely have a wide appeal and be truly family friendly. The park definitely needs some more "chill" rides.

Omnirover-style dark ride for new area taking over kidzone? yeah that would be great actually. I think with that and E.T., it would make for a superb area. And like i Said, I' hoping for a F&F type ride in the mystery plot

So the JP expansion has been indefinitely postponed according to JungleSkip and ReelJustice... and part of the reasoning to is to fasttrack KidZone's revamp! Personally, I'd be fine with waiting for a high quality JP expansion if that means a dead area of the park will finally become family-friendly as opposed to kid-friendly

Well, with Kong on the way the area is getting enough love IMO where KidZone could indeed be fast tracked.

Thank The Lord, I really want you all to look at kidzone, besides ET and George everything there is so outdated it burns. It's a embarrassment especially next to diagon and Springfield. I'm very happy JP will take a backseat

Agreed! Even without Kong coming to the vicinity, JP does not need nearly as much love and attention as KidZone, that's for sure!

So what we know so far is that kidzone will be almost all the way gone and we will probably get a new layout, also it might not be just kids properties. Finally we aren't grabbing in thin air for nothing anymore. Let the Video game/ nickelodeon/ DC land speculation begin

Has Cloudy with a chance of meatballs been guessed yet? There's a sequel coming out soon and the first movie was really popular. I feel like that could be something Uni looks at.

^By soon do you mean a year ago

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs may have been good for what it was, but it doesn't have the same weight as Shrek, Transformers, etc. I'd be surprised to see that have any theme park presence at all.
