So Teebin, quick question on your drawing. Basically the majority of the building will be for the ques? Or is that just a portion of the ride in your drawing?

That's just an example portion of track. Teebin drew it to show how the track will work with changing scenes etc

Oh ok. Thanks! I kind of figured it was just the portion with the dome screens.

what are O.W.L.s? Training?

That's interesting about being fully staffed. Personally if everything is ready except the FJ, maybe they should just open everything else..that way they can still do a "soft" of the FJ when they are ready.

My head hit the desk when I read this. Sheer surprise. I thought you were a HP fan or maybe joking.

That is just an example of a section of the ride... it is not a literal scene in the ride at all... just showing you the curves relative to the vehicles. The ride is FAR longer than that.

Thanks Teebin! If by some chance the ride isn't like that really, they should use you on their staff! It makes perfect sense to me.

NO, I have stated several times that I am not an avid Potter fan. I have not read any of the books, and have seen all the movies except Half Blood Prince.

That being said...I am a huge fan of theme parks, and theme park rides. I follow screamscape on a regular basis, which is how I got intoriduced to this board.

I like to think that my perspective on the wizarding world is a lot less emotional then some of you who have been reading these books for a decade.

this just heard on the loud speaker

"testing...testing....Why did we make these seat so damn small"

Ooooh... the track really does curve that tightly, I assure you... It is just not an actual scene from the ride itself. It would not have been wise for me to draw an actual scene now would it...

That's very cool Teebin! Is that what you needed the picture for last night?

For those of you interested in merchandise, I found a few WWoHP items on sale on ebay. I figured with TM's and others being let in, someone was bound to be trying to auction stuff off.

A wand, beer stein, etc. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_tr...rld+of+Harry+Potter&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Oh geez the ebaying has started for the love of all that is good don't be stupid enough to over pay for this stuff. If you really want anything before you get here ask someone nicely & I'm sure they would send it to you at cost plus just whatever it takes to ship the item. These people are trying to make a quick buck don't let them

Some ideas to keep in mind, my "soft"-minded compadres...

After last week's previews, TMs were offered the chance to complete a thorough survey in which they responded to the best, worst, prettiest, and ugliest aspects of WWoHP. Questions included the readiness of the cast, authenticity of each experience, and all other concerns. Since TMs know theme parks better than most individuals, I believe UO is actually listening to the feedback from their staff. Some of the biggest concerns (tiny shops, queue for Ollivander's, semi-crappy DC queue) could possibly be the topic of revision right now. As Hamlet said, "The readiness is all."

UO isn't in any hurry to soft open this thing. They already did. Also, Universal didn't offer food and beverage to TMs at 50% out of the goodness of their hearts -- they wanted TMs to try everything. They sacrificed early profits in order to get feedback (and since TMs are poor, the 50% prices probably broke the bank anyway) and volume (lower prices = higher customer volume = authentic rehearsal for TMs). Now that they've gone through 4 dress rehearsals, they are putting on the finishing touches.

Maybe they will soft open with the package holders. Maybe package holders will be the first to ride FJ -- in fact, don't be surprised if they let in the package holders (using a seperate ticket) and refuse entry to non-package folks. Again, frustrating and disappointing, and goes against our own logic. But according to the logic of Universal, this is probably going very well. Based on the strict control and secrecy utilized so far, I think it's safe to assume that Universal has no desire to soft open any further, even with FJ -- they have anxious, paying guineau pigs coming on Friday (May 28th) just for that.

Sorry, but it makes sense!

"Tessting...Testing...testing the eject button for all non-bowing passengers..."

--- Update ---

testing...testing...some guest going by the name Teebin and another named Scott with a I Heart New York T-shirt are fighting in front of the gate....please escort them out the park immediately"

How about something new to look at amidst all the speculation here? ;)

I spent a few hours in the park this morning, hoping for a soft opening, of course. Didn't happen, but I did get some video of Flight of the Hippogriff running the track with a few team members riding here and there:

http://www.insidethemagic.net/2010/...sting-at-the-wizarding-world-of-harry-potter/

Some cars had one or two team members, some had none. As I wrote in the post linked above, construction seems to continue in the area, at least in a small way. At one point, we heard the sound of an electric saw or some other power tool, but it only lasted a few seconds. Then near the backside of Dervish and Banges (along the Dueling Dragons queue) we saw a man working on some electrical wiring on the wall.

We were also told that team members should have a Forbidden Journey preview soon... but who knows.

Atticus I agree 5 Million% lol the TM previews very much were a "soft" of sorts for them. The package people can easily have their info attached to their hotel key or another ticket that has a barcode to limit access to the area to them. So really if anything I would check out how things are going Friday because that will be the telling day of how things are going to happen. It's obvious from today they are still working on things.

I can see escorted groups for the package holders, but how would they limit access to the passholders? putting up barriers and telling all but a select few that they can pass would be a formula for pandemonium.

You know, the contractors haven't even been given a 'special preview'. That's how 'close to the vest' UO is playing this one.
