I dislike parades. One more reason to hold out on my Uni trips until HHN.

I was never a big fan of the Mummy. The fire effects are cool but the coaster section towards the end is disappointing. There isn't much at Universal anymore that I actually care about. I love E.T. and Horror MakeUp. Simpsons is okay. But MIB, RRR, Mummy... all kind of lost steam. MIB would be great if people weren't aware they could score big buy shooting their own cars. It ruins the ride for everyone else. I like the look of Studios, I'd almost rather walk the park and grab an Amity hotdog (I'm assuming Nathan's is still there? Could be wrong) than actually ride anything. All a parade means to me is having to coordinate ahead of time what side of the road I need to take advantage of before I get stuck having to see a bunch of idiot bunnies, penguins, and Meddling Kids. I am all for borrowing from other parks like a nighttime spectacular, something I can better avoid if I dislike it, but a lack of parades is something I always honored about Universal parks. I see how they appeal to kids (and, I suppose the "kid" is certain adults) but I find them more nuisance than they are worth, personally.

It looks like all the streets at UO got a fresh back paint or tar or whatever they used.

And the construction walls on the Parade route are down.

considering last week they were resealing cracks along the asphalt surfaces in the entire park, this makes sense... it's cheaper and easier than repaving the all of the asphalt areas of the park...

(2/7/12) While he couldn’t snap a picture, Keith, our local Orlando man on the scene did happen to come across what looked like the Spongebob pineapple themed float (see art below) on the back of a flatbed semi trucking down I-4 by the Mall at Millennia on the way to Universal. Amazing the kinds of things you come across on the roads when you live in Orlando.

Look in this new aerial pic... On that new shed structure by the parade building, it looks like there's some colorful floats:

If you zoom in, they look like Mardi Gras colors, but it's from so far away, who knows... they could be the new floats!

Ok so according to my sources the calls have gone out, and casting is now done!

Looking at the rehearsal schedule it looks like this parade should be rocking and rolling by March 15th. So it does look like project 315 was a date.

Looks like rehearsal's have been blocked out by float. So each float is rehearsing independent of each other.

I wonder if that will be the first night of the water show as well...

I'm not doubting you or anything. I just find it hard to believe that it'll be ready in less than 3 weeks with auditions just ending.

I would think UO would make an announcement with the opening being so close. I could be wrong.. Stranger things have happend.

All I know is the casting and the rehearsal schedules. So anything beyond that is pure speculation on my part... though if you look at Mardi Gras and HHN UO doesn't like to waste time or money when it comes to rehearsing and getting the performers ready to go.

I'm sure parade choreography isn't too difficult for naturally talented performers. They could probably learn it in a day or two.

A day or two is probably a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure this could be done in by March 15th, that's more than enough time.

That date is speculation on my part with the project name and the rehearsal schedule. As I learn more I will share.
