How likely is some of Dreamworks to go to IOA? Specifically, Berk and Ancient China

They want DreamWorks in the parks bad. They just can’t decide on what and where to put them.

Color me not shocked.

Berk, Ancient China, and even Far Far Away has a lot of potential for attractions, where it could make Universal Creative insanely giddy. Color me not surprised about it at all that they're undecided on DWA.

What seems to me as a note for right now, is that Universal Creative seems to have back ups upon back ups of plans, projects, attractions, and other things that can sustain all to it's own if one thing falters. I am curious about what happens post-Thomas, as it could be a very interesting landscape going forward.

I may be out of the loop, but what does post-Thomas mean? Did I forget to pay my escort again?

Stan Thomas. Pretty much the man of target right now, he's apart of a rather large legal case that could decide a lot for Universal Orlando's future on the recently acquired near 500 acre lot.

Hmm, so where projects end up will be a result of the Stan Thomas situation? Very interesting

I think the best answer lies in how much land Universal could get if the case goes in their favor.

I feel inclined to ask @zg44 if he can pull up the map of all of what Stan Thomas has for land.

EDIT: Found this piece from zg,

There's the plot of the 3 UCPM III parcels involved in the bankruptcy proceeding.

Those are the 3 most valuable plots remaining in UCPM III that Stan Thomas controls other than that one all the way in the southwest of the map next to OCCC. Most of the remaining UCPM III land is wetlands or canals/stormwater/OCCC substation/rights-of-way for roads/extensions. That's why this bankruptcy proceeding is extremely important to both Universal and Stan Thomas.

In the original trades proposed between Stan Thomas and Universal, Universal would have let him keep those 3 valuable plots in exchange for the remainder of the land (the wetlands/canals/stormwater/OCCC substation/rights-of-way for roads/extensions).

But if they go through bankruptcy, then all that's left in UCPM III is mostly unwanted land that is only of use to Universal. That should lead to an "easier" negotiation to get Universal the remainder of the land.

Those first and second parcels allow Universal to create 2 large hotel plots on Universal Blvd. of 60 acres (Parcel 2 + the 2 already owned purple plots north/south of it) and 50 acres (Parcel 1 + the purple plot to the east of it). You can easily imagine another 4,000+ hotel rooms on those 110 acres that would easily be able to deliver guests to both resorts (similar to WnW's future 2,800 rooms).

The 3rd parcel adds another 21 acres to the current 441 contiguous acres in the main resort plot for a total of 462 acres with much larger access to Destination Blvd.

That pretty much just leaves Stan Thomas with the 2 FQP properties (the baby blue colored lands) as his most valuable remaining holdings in the area, and those 2 FQP properties are surrounded by purple.

You think that at some point there was a very high level meeting after D23 where some executive asked "How much would it cost just to build it all right now?"

I have the feeling that meeting happened more recently. It seems like there’s been a lot of insider movement lately, judging by all of news we’ve heard.

I personally wasn’t convinced that Disney would build most of the D23 stuff. I’m sure Universal thought similarly. But now, it seems like the dust has settled and a couple things have been cut (the MK theater). A lot of stuff is remaining and it looks like Disney is going to build it.

I’ve said this before, but one nugget I have heard multiple times, even in all the confusion is, “Theyre going to drop the bomb soon.”

So who knows. Stay tuned?

Hopefully. You all know how I can’t take this anymore. The least they could do is say something official to put an end to confusion.

I know you probably can’t say much. But, is it Orlando news or Hollywood/Japan news?

Ideally you would announce next year after IOA a new park but if they want to prevent F&F from being a total marketing nightmare, drop the news of a new park or Nintendo or something right after it opens.

I know we're all waiting for announcements, but literally no one who follows Universal should be surprised we haven't gotten any yet.

I honestly think we get a big info drop this summer. Announce the Potter coaster, MoM, and the new park, all at the same time. It'll be like Uni.'s version of a D23.
