I've seen this ad about 3 times now here in New York! So cool to see it on the TV, watching it for like the twentieth time make's it really apparent that Universal is aiming for a totally different demographic than Disney. Even "kids" in the Despicable Me part are pre-teens or teens. They are definitely going for the families with kids around the age of 10 and above.

The ad was on CBS last night during Elementary. They are apparently somewhat sparse in the rest of the country. Central Florida and the south is probably getting slammed with 3X as much, as has always been the case.

More still to come.......

Have Photos or Video of You Visiting Our Resort with Family or Friends?
Submit Them and You Could Be Included in Our New Brand Video!

In conjunction with our newly-launched ad spots and brand campaign, our Marketing & Sales team is developing a video that speaks to who we are as a brand – and they are looking for your assistance!

“Many of us have visited our resort with friends and family to create special moments and memories,” explains Mary Cavanaugh Knapp, Sr. Director of Brand Marketing, “and as we prepare a brand video to tell the story of what it means to visit and enjoy Universal Orlando, we thought, ‘who better to showcase everything Universal Orlando has to offer than members of our own Universal family?’”

The Marketing & Sales team is inviting you to submit videos or photos of you, your family, and friends enjoying Universal Orlando Resort – everything from posing in front of the globe or enjoying a Butterbeer™ to joking around with each other on the way to the next attraction and more: anything you think says “This is Universal.” If selected, your entries could be featured in our new brand video – which will be used in multiple places both internally and externally – to help viewers understand the brand of Universal Orlando.

GUIDELINES
The complete list of guidelines is available on UOTeam.com, but here are the basics:

1. We are looking for photos and video of the guest experience, so please do not include any photos or video of you in Wardrobe (or while you are working).
2. Any photos or videos containing offensive, illegal, obscene or otherwise inappropriate content will not be accepted.
3. Photos or videos may not feature logos, images or intellectual property of third parties (for example, no one in your party should be wearing clothing containing another brand).
4. By submitting an entry form along with signed release forms, you grant Universal Orlando the non-exclusive right to use the video or photo, for the purposes of publicity, promotion, advertising, and marketing of Universal Orlando Resort in any kind of medium now existing or created in the future, anywhere in the world, and in perpetuity without additional approval, permission, compensation, or notice.
5. Video clips should be three (3) minutes or shorter in duration.

Please make copies of your submissions as we may not be able to return your original photos and videos.

SUBMITTING ENTRIES
1. First, you need to be a Team Member of Universal City Development Partners, Ltd., in good standing and 18 years or older as of January 25, 2013.
2. Make sure everyone in your photo or video consents to being included in your submissions. They will each need to sign a release form, available for download on UOTeam.com. If anyone in your submission is younger than 18 years old, then the parent/guardian has to sign a release form for that person.
3. All submissions – Be sure to include your name, Team Member ID number, work location, and contact number, as well as the signed release forms as part of your submission. Submissions can be e-mailed as attachments to communications@universalorlando.com or can be dropped off in Team Member Services in B-111 during normal business hours. If your submission is selected, we will ask for the original release forms if you submitted via e-mail. Please see below for more detail.
a. Photos – Send photos via e-mail, as attachments, to communications@universalorlando.com with “Brand Video Entry, Photo” in the subject line. If submitting more than one photo, please pick your best four or five and submit them in the same e-mail. High-resolution, horizontal (landscape) images are preferred.
b. Videos – The best option is to send us a link to your video on a video hosting site such as YouTube or Vimeo. Send a link to your video via e-mail to communications@universalorlando.com with “Brand Video Entry, Video” in the subject line. If your video is longer than 3 minutes , please indicate when the relevant section of the video begins and ends by including the start and end times for your entry. Please do not send videos as attachments. If your video is not posted on a video sharing site, you may still participate – simply drop off a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM that includes your video files in Team Member Services in B-111. (Please note that entries submitted on physical media will not be returned, so make a backup copy.) If you have more than one video to share, please select your best two or three and send them all at once.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Representatives from our Marketing & Sales team will review each of the entries. If your photo or video is selected to appear in the brand video, we will notify you through your contact number or email address. Once the brand video is complete, we will share how to view it here in Universal News so you can share the fun with family and friends! Questions? Please e-mail communications@universalorlando.com.

The submission deadline is Thursday, February 8 at 12:00pm.
Thank you for sharing your memories!

Those are great! Thanks for posting them. They really have improved on this kind of messaging.

Wow, those are amazing! The Jurassic Park one makes me want to jump on the next plane to MCO.

Universal, take my money!!

The ads have been running heavy in the Pittsburgh area. Orlando has always been a prime vacation destination for tourists from western Pa.

They're all so stunning! Too bad we can only post one video per post :'(

Oh well, new post, new video! Take it away, Hulk!
