Yeah, it's fine either way. I'm just saying Trek isn't an IP in which location doesn't particular matter, IMO.

I think it's also an IP that definitely can't sustain its own land, popularity wise. I think it works better as a cornerstone attraction for a land

To prevent this thread from spiraling any further, should we recount which IPs are currently rumored and the validity of each one? I'm honestly starting to lose track and I don't want this to be like the early USF project speculation where it just went too out of control.

  • Pokemon (Was in original SNW concepts before it was shelved for future use)
  • Zelda (Was in original concepts for SNW before it was shelved for future use)
  • Jurassic World (@Joe seemed to mention this up in regards to Beijing's Mega-ETicket coming to Orlando in the future)
  • Potter (Most likely Fantastic Beasts)

From what it seems, @Disneyhead pointed out on Page 140 of Star Trek and Middle Earth being looked at, and that several DreamWork's IPs are right now drawn up as mini-lands; with one mentioned before being Shrek.

That said, if they are going with a Sci-Fi land for Gate IV; I see no reason that they can't bring the USS coaster to Orlando if BG is a possible IP.

Thanks, Alex. :)

I find it kind of interesting how, in a way, there's basically 10-ish "slots" for lands across the current and future resorts. At the base resort, there's eventual (but necessary) replacements for KidZone, World Expo, Lost Continent, and Toon Lagoon. Than at the the new park there will likely be around 6-7 lands. SNW is basically a lock for KidZone, but for everything else, it's a game of "Should we slot this into the existing space in the existing park or give it a fully fledged land in the new park?" and "Let's think of a bunch of land ideas and we can decide where to tie them together later." It doesn't mean anything, I just found it interesting to think about.

Would make a good Pacific Rim coaster design, with big Jaeger in the center.

I kind of have my doubts they'd do that. If they did, it'd be under a completely different IP.

(whispers) An F-Zero dueling coaster would be genius, though...

That's actually an interesting idea. Lands with lands. The DreamWorks Republic.

I feel like something is missing from that list, not an IP or something that has been mentioned but a land that offers a little more variety than what is already available or will be available in the current resort.

To give an honest guess, I would assume Middle Earth, Pokemon, Zelda, Jurassic World, and Fantastic Beasts would be the most likely lands for the park.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather want to be in a Simulator for Pacific Rim (or some Upcharge AR/Screen Experience where you and a co-pilot control a simulated Jaeger.

Personally, I would do Battlestar Galactica only due to that it is a popular cult series, with a reboot in development; I see that as a great way to theme it to the next version with keeping one of the more unique coasters in the planet.

Honestly, I think a DreamWorks Fantasyland wouldn't be a terrible idea. It'd go against the "immersive land based off a single IP" quota that's big in theme parks nowadays but I feel like you could make a decent land featuring Shrek, Dragons, Trolls, etc., with a decent amount to do in each miniland and an alright flow between them. Plus, you don't have to worry about an entire land of the park becoming dated; once one becomes dated, just replace the specific attraction and surrounding area with a newer DreamWorks IP.

Personally, I like the idea of the new park having another "Port of Entry" style opening area that's completely original... and this time with an actual attraction, inside the (100% speculated and likely not happening) mountain icon. Universal has proven they can do original IP when it comes to water parks, restaurants, and park icons, but I'd love to see them get at least ONE crack on a completely original state of the art e-ticket.

Seriously, a submarine type ride in POE would be awesome, or a dark ride of some kind...

I always pictured an entrance land similar to Columbia from Bioshock

That’s something I’d like to see in this park, the ability to change something within a park easily and often. Parks have been claiming to have his ability of decades but have gave up after one season.

Universal have been on a bit of a winning streak recently with original ideas that I’d love to see their confidence grow and continue here.

The biggest inspiration I'd want for the park is Tokyo Sea. Maybe have an enormous waterfall as the icon with the waterfall turning into a screen similar to World of Colour at night time with viewing all around the lagoon similar to Epcot.

Yes, DisneySea kinda blurs the line of original and IP driven...I mean, technically Journey to the Center of the Earth is an IP, but it is highly original in execution..

Allegedly TDS is the model they're shooting for, which leads me to believe Shrek will not be the centerpiece

Hnnng, don't make DisneySea comparisons. That'll shoot my hopes up way too unreasonably high.

...but if the park has the vast lands of Middle-Earth, Hyrule, and Fantastic Beasts, as well as the unique worlds of Pokemon and DreamWorks, it honestly would be kind of Disneysea-esque, imo. Another reason I think having some sort of mountain, waterfall, or "natural" icon would be a great way to tie everything together.

I don’t think Shrek should be the main centerpiece either. I honestly don’t want a castle as the centerpiece either. It’s been done far too much and is really boring. Much prefer Jungle’s idea of a mountain or just something different.

As a complete gimmick that would make me giddy like a wean, would be if Universal went for the waterfall idea while trying to figure out how to get people up and down the different elevations. They decided to build a slide going in and out of the waterfall.

If they go and have something entirely original as the main land once you enter, with a mountain looming with a small lake in-front (ala TDS), I would love to see it be more rooted in old European architecture. That way, if Fantastic Beasts uses Paris as the backdrop for the land, it can give way to a really nice transition from old vintage Europe to the 1920's/1930's backdrop of Paris.

Just make it a Mt. Fuji replica to have a Japan area for a Godzilla ride. I can hope.
