I wonder if they'll go will a big Volcano-Bay-like entrance reveal. Imagine going through a small, themed forest, then exiting out onto a waterfront that overlooks LOTR mountain and the Eye of Sauron, the Mushroom Kingdom and Peaches Castle, and a giant DreamWorks area with multiple rides and theming pieces interacting with the water. It would be awesome.

Like Oasis to Tree of Life reveal at Animal Kingdom. IOA is like this as well to some extent. Rarely done but always a great payoff in parks.

The fact LOTR is costing Amazon $1 billion dollars....I think Universal actually may pass on it. The Cost to ROI may not be as high as anticipated.

Also, I would expect fully finalized plans for any outside IP won't come out until most of the mergers and acquisitions that are being planned behind the screens are finalized.

Unless Universal places all of the Nintendo properties in the 3rd park, there's no way that Universal passes on LOTR. It's extremely valuable.

Remember Universal passed on DC when it was the IT IP because it was going to cost too much in regards to their portion of admissions. WB wanted a ~10% while Universal only wanted to give 6% and Universal walked due to that.

If LOTR is too expensive Universal will walk and find another fantasy IP to go with. Its not like they are truly suffering for IPs.

Additionally, they most likely couldn't use LOTR in the other parks they have ownership outside the states which also makes cost a major factor as why am I spending so much on an IP I can only exploit in the United States.

I can see it now: a boat going through caves of screenz and a Gollum AA randomly singing at the end. That should have a three hour wait every day of the year.

Maybe not a full ride, but his cave could make for an amazingly eerie, atmospheric queue.

What if it was something like the Dragon’s cave at Disneyland Paris? Not a ride, not a queue, just a cave with an AA in it.

Around the mountain I imagine this ride .
I also see the Rivendell village for shop, dining....
and for the previous concept (Gollum Cave ) I imagine a face to face with Smaug
same system like Pirates of Carribbean of Shanghai

Yea, but Universal was also run by a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge cheapo at the time. The WB deal was for DC AND Looney Tunes for Toon Lagoon.

Now we have a land featuring freaking Gasoline Alley.

If Comcast can get LOTR, they're gonna get it.

Yes, I agree with you. Comcast has a different philosophy than existed during those Warner Bros. negotiations that fell apart over a mere $70,000 or so difference (per Jay Stein, Universal Exec. at the negotiations).

COASTER WISH LIST:

-
Donkey Kong coaster with a new layout. The old one seemed a little boring.
- Intamin Blitz coaster model. Hopefully won't be themed to any IP's (it wouldn't really fit in any IP anyways). Could end up exploring a forest-like setting
- Shrek family coaster. Includes lots of show scenes.
- Some sort-of indoor coaster with show scenes.

WATER RIDE WISH LIST:

- LOTR boat ride with multiple show scenes, drops, and special elements.
- Madagascar boat ride, with no drops or special elements. I'd prefer for it not to be a clone of Singapore's.
- Donkey Kong rapids ride, with multiple show scenes, special elements, and a single drop. Looks to Infinity Falls and Popeye for inspiration.

Didn’t someone put a layout over the blueprints once? I think it was @AliciaStella.

I mean, that still doesn't show you want's happening. It just shows where the track is.

Yea, this thing has show scenes, animatronics and special effects. Far from boring.
