For a Weekend afternoon in June, those times aren't bad.

Still long wait times...I too am curious to see how long it'll be until everything that was supposed to be completed by opening day is finally finished.

Mystic Fountain is listed on park maps for IOA, so if Vol really is a talking interactive experience like that it makes sense to list it as an attraction.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad time, @UAN17. Trust me, no one here is defending Universal for the sake of defending Universal. We know the park's opening has been plagued with problems.

Perhaps they should consider selling dated tickets to ensure capacity is capped where it should be. They should also maybe consider upping the price on day tickets soon as well.

TapuTapu alone, if working correctly, means this should park should be treated as a bit more boutique than regular water parks. This is something people pay additional for at other water parks...gate price + time saver bands. Volcano Bay shouldn't be the same price as Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for what was supposed to be more of a premium experience.

To me that kinda stinks if this ends up being a boutique park. I wanted this to be the original EPCOT of water parks, not Discovery Cove.

I understand why the Aqua Coaster could have technical issues/difficulties that would cause it to be "down", but what are the issues that are causing the other slides to be "down" so much? Is it the conveyor belts?

So, when the conveyor belt is on the fritz, rather than allowing guests to carry their tubes up the steps, they shut down the slide? Seems silly.

It's probably to avoid more complaints related to what was promised. They advertised no carrying tubes.

I wonder if it will be like the money changer in DA?

The seperators on the stairs are way too narrow and they probably don't want to risk popping a $5k family raft tube. Also, some of the slide ditchpatch systems keep malfunctioning, which requires a reset.

Interesting that there is a $45 parking charge for Cabana Bay (and supposedly Sapphire too) for "Day Guest Parking", basically making it preferred parking for VB:

They are turning away anyone who doesn't have a Cabana Bay room key at the Cabana Bay guest park entrance.

Had a nice weekend trip to Uni, stayed at RPR. We did not go to VB (I loathe water parks) but spoke with several families that did go while there. For the most part (there was one couple that hated the "timer" and couldn't understand why they needed to know how exactly long they were waiting in line, it was a strange conversation) the consensus was "needed more work but was one of the best water parks we'd been to, can't wait to go back when its done".

The issues were constructive, most everyone understood Tapu Tapu (there is a nice explainer running on the resort cable), the food and coaster got high praise. Most liked not feeling rushed to get all the rides in immediately (though there were complaints about not getting to do more rides).

It was really interesting to hear some "man on the street" reports!

I was about to say that $45 is ludicrously expensive. But, then I noticed that Disney preferred parking is $40.

I swear, I just don't understand the world sometimes. This would still be the most expensive parking in Orlando (to my knowledge), but just by a hair.

For a theme park, Blizzard and TL are free parking.

With all the issues, reviews and negativity by guests, throwing in a parking grab of $45 at this point in time I don't think was necessary. You'll have people now pay $45+$62+Locker and then they can ride a few rides and spend more time in queue?

It's just going to add another thing thing people will be upset over, in the guest relations line for which is longer than some ride lines that UO will end up crediting back. UO should be added a good will for people right now, this move is the opposite.

They don't expect anyone to pay it and in fact hope no one does. CBBR is short on parking even with the expansion of the garages

The $45 is for people not staying on property, or can't get their parking validated. Basically, don't park there for Volcano Bay or you're gonna be paying.

The $45 is to discourage people from parking at Cabana Bay for the park.

Repeat after me everybody: if you don't have a Cabana Bay room key, you're not getting in through the resort gate.

They're not even letting in people with a Sapphire Falls room key.
