Surprisingly enough, the worst guests to deal with are the Florida residents. As if there is some expectation that they are owed something. To that, I say that thanks to the entertainment taxes collected by the park (as well as other parks/hotels/entertainment complexes) they do not have to pay state taxes. So who owes who?......... They could have a huge plot of undeveloped land with nothing to enjoy AND have to pay state taxes...........

Same here, I really don't get where you're going by "that they are owed something." What we're getting is plenty enough

I have to agree with what the others are saying.

I find Florida residents to be the absolute best guests to deal with when working. They're always to themselves and don't ask stupid questions. And because they're typically annual pass holders, they know what to expect if something doesn't exactly know what happens. I don't really agree with the fact that Florida residents feel that they are owed something.

Ive said this like ten times since the debate started but I just feel like doing away with single park passes would eliminate SO much confusion and pissed off guest experiences.its not that much more money anyway, people would/will happily pay more for potter. You can still have two gates, no need to merge. Let some people whine about having pay more that just wanted to go to one park, see if I care lol. Better than a thousand ignorant tourists wearing griffindor robes in line at guest services with complaints everyday. (To be fair, I own a wand...)

Is it possible that both trains only do the show going one direction, and after unload, backup in darkness to the original station? From what I have been told by a Pink-bellied Sap Sucker frozen to my window, both trains appear to have one engine each and face in opposite directions. If there is an elegant solution to this, whereby the trains wouldn't have to back up, I would love to know what it is.

Excuse me, care to elaborate? Or just throwing punches?

I've been following this board for 4 years and have really enjoyed the atmosphere. But It seems like these types of posts are showing up more and more lately. There's no need to insult anyone on here for their opinion. ESPECIALLY if your not even going to back up you post with any type of context whatsoever. If you are trying to encourage more people to participate in the forums, these types of comments should be addressed.

This has been a discussion on here so many times... But sure,

"its not that much more money anyway"
^Haha...It may not be more money for one ticket, but how about a few hundred thousand tickets?

"people would/will happily pay more for potter"
^Universal Orlando is much more than Harry Potter. Not everyone will be going to the parks in a year after WWOHP II opens just for Harry Potter! Some people might not even know about Harry Potter, you would be surprised!

"You can still have two gates, no need to merge"
^Then what's the point of having a one price for both?? This would create confusion in itself! "Wait, do we have to pay to get in this park tooooo?" "I'm not sure, we should ask!"

"Let some people whine about having pay more that just wanted to go to one park, see if I care lol"
^I didn't know you owned the parks? Sorry but not everyone is going for Harry Potter, people that go every year may only want to do a quick trip to one park, not everyone wants to pay extra for a park they don't have intentions on visiting. They are trying to create an experience here where guests stay longer than one day.

Hey, it's a forum and were all behind computer screens! Don't take it personal

Sorry, you have many fallacious arguments here. (AKA many do not follow real business practices or logical ones to say the least!)

BEST WAY TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE?
I've said this all along but it has been mainly ignored...Sell a commemorative Harry Potter ticket that is essentially the same as a two-park pass, rather it may be a large ticket with a design relating to the Wizarding World. Now if someone has come for the Potter experience, they easily know which ticket to choose.

Try to read my posts more carefully. My point was that it isn't that much more money PER ticket. As in per guest. And actually from a business sense if you can afford to raise a ticket price by a little without suffering a decrease in overall sales then you are very happy, but you already knew that given your business background. However your "few hundred thousand tickets" is a very LOW estimate.

Ticket prices have increased many times before at UOR. Years before potter was even considered...pretty sure people still showed up. Haha thank you I honestly thought every person in the world knew the story of the boy who lived. I really hope that was sarcasm.

How did I even remotely imply that I own universal Orlando resort? My statement was figurative. And if you are trying to create an experience where guests stay more than one day, then you are on the wrong side of this argument my friend. Who is more likely to stay more than one day? One park ticket holders or two park ticket holders?

Again with the personal attacks, but at least you managed to regurgitate some substance to back it up first. More or less. bravo.

Soooo HTF is pretty in to discussions and loves to be a part of them. But not once has he commented on this situation. Same with Briman. That means they know something that they are comfortable with. So far they have been pretty on the ball with the info. And every time it comes up they just kind of pull a smirk. So I'm going to put some faith into that, and hold out on any judgement before I make my tummy turn.

HTF did recently mention something pretty significant about the ticketing situation in the members only thread. I won't comment anymore on it because I am an advocate of generating more traffic on this site and i think its a great way to generate more members. but it is a pretty dead giveaway of the topic on hand. So sign up lurkers!

Sap sucker? Anyways each train will face in the same direction, towards IOA. So at one station you will only see the locomotive when exiting. The stations themselves will be built in a way to accommodate this perspective. I just can't stress enough how elaborate and cool these stations will be

Read my posts more carefully? I got the context, I said that it might not be much more for ONE or PER ticket, rather in a few days it will add up! Because I totally didn't know millions of people visit the parks each year  The main point here is that increasing the ticket price without suffering sales is GREAT but your customers need options! It's not a good idea to force people to pay the price of two parks.

Yes, this is the common trend among parks everywhere in the U.S. This is just a given but again, my main point is that not everyone will be willing to pay more for HP.

I'm done with the ticket issue, if you want to continue the discussion with me then grace the boards and PM me. So...any new pics?!

I am like you. I even go one step further and try to help guests out who are visiting from another state or country. I end up talking to them in line, waiting for a show, etc and give them tips. I also thank people for visiting and I joke with people I know who are visiting that because of them I don't pay state income tax. I personally have no issues with tourists. I do however have an issue with people who read English and still have an issue with basic signs like single riders. That is when I get mad at tourists. I also think most tourists leave their brains in the airplane when they come down here and pick it up on their way home. Because they tend to do very stupid things that I don't think they would do in normal life. But I shrug my shoulders and move on :) I enjoy going to the parks and having fun, if I want to do that I know I need to deal with all the other crap, so it doesn't get to me.
