Going to be a new entry gateway but not sure of the rest or how it will be executed.

The path from the train station to Hogsmeade proper is going to look great with all the trees that will be planted. And it will be such an improvement from the lack of transition we have now between Lost Continent and Hogsmeade. I think it's possible the path might be flanked on either side by low stone walls to help sell the fact that we are in the English/Scottish? countryside (the trees, of course, well do most of that work).

Here's the Hogsmeade level from an HP video game where you can see the type of walls I'm talking about.

Aside from anything else, I think it'll be nice to finally have some nice landscaping surrounding (some of) DC. At least for part of it when this is done you won't just be staring at concrete.

My understanding is that the station and train will remain as someone earlier had stated, it's one of the best photo ops in the park. They are just going to extend the train theming out towards the new station

I really don't see how that can happen. The people who just got off the Hogwarts Express would be mighty confused to turn the corner and see another one.

I agree with this, it would kill the illusion, for me any way.

Agreed. Maybe like a dense forest that could resemble the Forbidden Forest. Right now, I'm not a fan of the grass, weeds and ponds located under the track.

The rumor was that it would somehow look, like the train is further ahead and coming out of the end where the current HE is at...going to be pretty hard to pull off though.

So... the only locomotive we'll see we've already seen a million times (it's sitting in IOA right now)?

No the only time your going to see the new one, being built right this very minute, is when you disembark the ride at the south station (IOA). I was just telling you guys so you can figure it into your conversation.

Call me dumb but I'm still not understanding how the illusion of the HE will work. Will the whole ride be enclosed with screens (that would be a nightmare to build seeing how long the track will be) or will the technology be on the train itself?

The tech will be in the windows of the train.

Right, you won't see outside of the train once inside. But it will appear as if the load platform is filled with Hogwarts students.

If they remove the photo train I will scream like a wounded panther. I don't believe there will be any photo ops possibilities with the new real train engines, however I will bow to HTF to answer that.

LOL @ the visual... but yes I'm with ya. I would be quite heartbroken if they took it away.

I assume it will be something similar to this.
