I think if there ever is a leaky caudron... then part of it will look like this:

_38913505_daylight4_door.jpg

if if if they go this direction, it will look like the movie. Makes sense, the entrance will start in current day London and deeper and deeper you go into the mystery of the tale.

I agree, but I said it was just a rough draft. But I was thinking IF they do go with the movie, I don't understand how it would work getting people through that tiny opening. But I really really like the normal -> magical day idea.

I downloaded the model. Very cool. Although I'm not sure about the Weasley's house being right there but oh well.

Yeah, I agree that in my model, the Weasley’s house is too close to London (when in the COS, according to Mr Weasley, there is a 10 min car flight from the Burrow to King’s Cross). I was just going to have nothing where the Burrow is located and just have the curved Hogwarts Express simulator track weaving through the DC poles, and then I thought the façade of the shuttle could be painted to be a backdrop for the Weasley’s house.

I think the Burrow attraction somewhere in the park is a good idea as it is Harry’s favourite place outside Hogwarts. A walkthrough attraction of a magical house would be so extraordinary; imagine the self knitting needles (watch the COS special features, they created real robotic needles, they’re not CGI), the family ghoul wailing, in the garden you could have a young Whomping Willow trying to hit the muddy little taunting garden gnomes, also you could see the little pitch the Weasley’s created in their orchard for Quidditch.

If anyone here were designing phase 2, if you wanted a Burrow attraction, where would you have the Burrow located?

On the outskirts of a London section... The way I see it, the Greek section would be the main London section, with a Ministry attraction and the Kings Cross/London Express simulator. I'm thinking you could have a few muggle shops scattered around with magical effects triggered by you and other guests...
The Arabian section would be Diagon Alley, which we've already discussed a bit.
I'm still trying to figure out how I would go with the Hogwarts Express sim, cause there are a few issues with it. It would need to go from the London section to the Hogsmeade section...
To answer your question about where the Burrow should be, to say the least I don't think it would come to the WWoHP. If it did, I'd have to say it would be on the very edge of the current Greek section, know what I mean?

Right now none of that's likely to happen, just my little ideas on what could happen if the whole of LC was taken over.

You're absolutely right. I even admit seeing it in theaters myself. And then I forgot about it.

I layed out my version of WWOHP Phase 2 last night. What sets mine apart (besides the obvious) is that I have left the Greek section alone. Beyond that, I even left room for a future LC attraction. My point being that if WWOHP Phase 2 happens and Mythos and PF are staying, LC will need something. It already needs something even with the Arabian section, so I've left room for perhaps a well-themed flat ride. I'll get to work on the SketchUp tonight and see how far I get. Descendo, this was a great idea. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I think that phaseII should include actual dragons for DC. I really have no complaints about the WWoHP. But the lack of Dragons on DC does bug me. Maybe have some burnt trees in the middle of the ride area.

Oh man I don't even want to get started on this. They practically ruined DD's queue. There are so many things they could do to give this ride a storyline again and make it as elaborate as it was before. Like you said, in the arena, burnt trees, rockwork, fire effects, etc. And at least fill those empty tunnels in the queue with wall art or audio or something.

(kidding, kidding. What I think he meant by "actual dragons" is animatronic dragons)

Nah, I'm pretty sure he meant real dragons. C'mon, how hard could they be to get?

All we need is a teleporter to the real Harry Potter universe and some dragon-catching gear and then we're good to go.

Yea, I understood that. But animatronics would add nothing to the ride, considering you'd fly by them in the blink of an eye.

Also...you're supposed to be ON the dragon.

Just to be clear I did mean REAL DRAGONS. I hear that they have done some incredible things in genetic engineering as of late. It would be irresponsible for me to suggest they do anything less....

I kid. Yeah AA's will work i suppose.
And in the Queue because yes we would fly by them way to fast to be reasonable on the ride. Plus once were on the ride we ARE the dragons! mwahaha

I would kind of agree with you all but I think the real problem with DC is that they have the ability to promote it as Attraction and Ride in that the queue is so damned long. If they really put big bucks into the queue and made it somewhat FJ queue-like, with the bold caveat that "riding is optional", they could alleviate much of the WW's congestion. The old queue was worthy of touring, yet few did as it wasn't promoted as such, wouldn't everyone agree?

I never understood why they kept the entrance to DC in Hogsmeade.

Well, the whole thing is stretching imagination... Hogwarts was close to Hogsmeade and the quidditch grounds were on Hogwarts grounds albeit a great distance. Why would there not be a separate shortcut to anything on the immense Hogwarts property from Hogsmeade? If you accept Hogwarts location to Hogsmeade then you must accept all other aspects of anything Hogwarts related. It is a theme park.

My guesses, cost, wasn't top priority, and to keep the perfect view of all three near-misses at once.

@Teebin, I agree. DC, while far more heavily advertised than DD, is the only part of the WWoHP that doesn't feel like you are really there, and does feel like you're in a cheap theme park.
