What I am hearing is that JK signed off on the plan in May. WB singed off on it in late June. And that financing came through recently. I heard nothing about a disagreement between JK an Uni. What I have heard is she loves the current WWOHP and is very enthused about Phase 2 plans. As a matter of fact, I heard that she had approved the plans before the rumors of a disagreement surfaced. I don't believe there was ever a problem.

As far as an impending announcement, I have heard nothing. But there are curious things about this weekends event.

Just like last time, when there is announcement, expect some concept art and NO details about attractions. That leads to very active discussion board threads.

---edit---

Oh, and I did hear a really vague rumor about a family friendly ride through of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. But I am not familiar with the sources track record. But I thought I would throw that out there.

Interesting, I thought rumors just posed it as a sort of sister store to Zonkos to be located in the Diagon Alley section, but never as an attraction. (Obviously given the fact that it is a store in the books) I think it could work IMO as that scene from Half-Blood Prince was arguably the liveliest:

Interesting, but ride wise all I've heard are Gringotts(obviously) and something Ministry of Magic related.

Would be perfect IMO, and the perfect medium to showcase a magic joke shop.

Oh boy, here come the Teebin riddles again

If there is an expansion it'll definitely have to have some sort of family ride since the tamest ride in WWoHP right now is FotH

Just in case there's one person on the planet who doesn't know . . .

But Fred DIED! I know wwohp doesn't have a specific date and all, but now that the final movie has been viewed by millions, it would be really awkward to see him in this ride. At the same time, it would be even worse if they only had George. And considering it's their own store, it would be kind of weird to not include them at all as well. I am puzzled. I kind of hope this isn't true and it only ends up being a store.

^^^Both of them are already present in Forbidden Journey in the finale. I don't think it's that big a deal, if the ride is indeed factual.

That isn't a riddle.... mercy you young pups... that is a CLASSIC saying. It means 'something/someone that keeps a quiet unassuming facade may actually have a deeper story to tell or impact on our lives'. Disneyhead dropped some details that I had never heard before and I assumed he probably didn't know. i.e. Financing has been approved. That's big kids.

Oh I know the saying, and I'm one of the few non-young pups on here (I'm in the 3rd decade of life)

But I thought you were implying YOU knew more then what you were saying

Ahhh... well, even if they announce something this weekend please know that I will have no riddles for at least 12-18 months as that is when the 'cool' contracts (and diagrams) will go out. Once these are 'watered down' throughout the industry for bid... then there may be riddles. I can only hope, as I LOVE the design minutia.

Could we maybe get a Diagon Alley dark ride? Hmm... But I think an actual Diagon Alley to walk through would be better. Maybe we'll only get a few stores to shop in and the rest will be a facade to hide a ride where we explore all of Diagon Alley?

Doh. You're right. I haven't been to Orlando since Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released. I forget things. Oh well, as long as there's at least one incredibly epic attraction, I could care less about a shop being turned into a ride.

I'd like to see Knockturn Alley, although I know that'll never happen. Still, one can dream.

Any word on when this probable, possibly already agreed upon expansion will actually be finished? Are we still looking at 2015 or later?

How could anyone know that??? We first have to have it announced.

That said, if it was announced yesterday, then it would be opening sometime in the next 2 - 3 years. 1 year of demolition and infrastructure. 1 year of construction. 6-12 months of final construction and creating/installing the pretty stuff.

Er...sorry? It's just that some people had previously been talking about likely dates for the expansion, so I was curious if, with all these recent rumors, there was anything new. If any of these rumors are true it sounds like the expansion has been agreed upon/will be announced sooner than expected, so... I wasn't expecting anyone to KNOW anything. Just looking for rumors or informed opinions.
