I'm sure something was hinted at that presentation yesterday.
I didn't attend sadly.

EDIT: Now I see the picture... you braggart! I be jealous. At least you had to work. I hope they had some new tech thingys that opened your eyes. Please let us know when your piece is being aired.

Too many trade secrets floating around the place.

I saw lots of cool stuff. Mostly 3D projection and RFID tech. I didn't get any new info. But I did get to see the Manta vehicle for San Diego

More murmurs of ‘Wizarding World’ at Universal Orlando expansion from producer David Heyman

Harry Potter producer David Heyman didn’t keep mum on the Harry Potter Home Entertainment Celebration red carpet at Universal Orlando last weekend.

He told one fansite that plans for a Wizarding World expansion and new Potter parks were in “early days,” and as it turns out he had a bit more to confirm to a major news outlet.

From the Toronto Sun:
Heyman confirmed with Sun Media that details are being planned, including new Potter-themed thrill rides. Heyman himself has been thrilled with the response. “This is the first time we’ve been here with this crowd,” he said of “real fans” of the Harry Potter universe. “You realize it does live on and it lives on in so many ways.”

So now we know that thrill rides are part of the expansion plan. I’m personally still holding out for a Gringotts ride to take over the existing Poseidon’s Fury area at Universal Orlando.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on any expansion and new park news as it becomes available!

Be sure to check out our list of 8 things we want to see in a new Potter park.

So is this definitive confirmation of phase 2 coming from the horse's mouth?!?!?!?!?

Hard to tell what he means by "new Potter parks". Is he referring to new lands within the WW or the lightly rumored idea that potter parks would open in other locations around the world?

See one of his hedging interviews below. It is interesting to note that both he and Woodbury are quoted as saying "we are focused on this event only". It is as if all on the carpet had been given a list of talking points.

LOL, this comment for a ride idea I haven't really thought of before had me laughing so hard, from the fact that it's part genius!
Still want to see a wand shooting game if they expand it. How cool would that be, to shoot down death eaters in the Ministry :)

It's from a Hypable commenter named taylore thompson. We've all been wondering what type of Ministry of Magic attraction could be created. The prospect of an MIB type ride in which we are whirled through the Ministry facilties with wand in hand almost sounds to good too be true. And sadly too ambitious and cheesy for Uni Creative to seriously consider. Of all the pipe dreams from fans in terms of what they want from the expansion (a Hogwarts Express simulator?) this actually sounds like an idea which melds theme park mechanics with logical story lines from the books. I could see them using those 360 degree moving elevators from the films as ride vehicles.

The expansion part is pretty self explanitory. The other Potter parks part, I think is refering to Osaka and Singapore. New thrill rides. Cool.

I'm just thinkin' a MoM Shooter would end up being a little too cheesy for the WWOHP. Now I could see a MoM dark ride or FX show.

This was what Disney had proposed and had pattens for when they proposed it to JK.

Oh God, please NO. That sounds really cheesy. If they made it somewhat scary/serious (because lets face it, the Death Eaters aren't anywhere near as silly as the bad aliens from MIB - they're basically a fantasy version of a Nazi or Ku Klux Klan member), MAYBE it could work. But the overall idea of such a ride just worries me.

From what I understand, Disney's Potter pitch was pretty impressive and was more than just the shooter dark ride. It was also going to have dining and retail. I've been told the deal breaker was Disney's insistance on cross promotion of Potter and Disney. JK really didn't like the idea of Goofy dressed as Dumbledore or Sorcerer Mickey hats for sale in Gladrag's Wizarding Wear.

Personally I think Singapore would be the park we see Potter expand to outside of the US but that's just me. Also just throwing it out there Transformers and Potter are two of the most successful film franchises in Singapore. It was also real popular in Japan but the Japanese LOVE those Disney movies. Still not sure though how much of there business is coming from outlying areas to visit the Singapore park though.

As for the shooter no thank you, but I would still like to see a family attraction come to Potter.

I am so happy that she had other offers to choose from. Disney's cross promo is disrespectful to originality at best and gross commercialism at least. I wonder what the spider-man Mickey costume will look like... in a bad dream. JKR made the right choice, obviously.

Yea...I really, really hope there isn't a shooting ride, unless it's a small one (Maybe the rumored WWW?). Honestly, I just don't think it fits in with the feel of the overall land or series.

Now, a slow moving dark ride through the MoM? I'm all in.
