Yes, exactly my thought. With the way people are still lining up just to get into a small shop, it'd be foolish to think the Hogwarts Express wouldn't be insanely crowded.

And the crossover is equally important. Not sure of the character but the girl that played the love of Ron. All she could talk of was HULK!. Or was that Luna. That is crossover... didn't know they would love theme parks so much.

I'm not on the bandwagon for an HP invasion of the Studios but it does make sense in a way to push 2 park tickets. It would be pretty dumb not to connect the two areas though.

Now having worked at Universal, I can say that the road behind is the most important path between wardrobe, USF, IOA, all of the operations buildings, and one of the team member grills. I find it hard to believe they would or could run a train down the middle of it. If they do though I think the only feasible way would be to have fake windows.. or maybe real windows with a projection system/screens a few feet beyond the windows. Both ideas are pretty problematic though. What would it look like when people are boarding and unboarding?

Diagon Alley would be pretty sweet though. There's room for a major attraction, restaurant, shops, and a train station.. without the train though it seems pretty unfeasible.

Of course the crazily themed total immersion lands are the "in thing" now in Orlando so I'm hoping for Lord of the Rings.. that franchise seems to have some lasting power. Or Star Trek? Who owns the rights to Star Trek?

Transformers would be okay.. but it uses the Spiderman ride system and meh.. too much of a good thing.

Yeaaa another tiny crowded area (P2.0) that you have to wait for the privaledge of getting to by riding a tiny crowded train, after waiting just to enter the land.
And then probably have to wait to return, sorry that doesn't sound like fun to me JMO

With the shear amount of land they have here, I don't expect it to be as tight.

If JKR approves I would assume they would make more spacious

What about moving some of the employee facilities over to where the Hard Rock was? Then creating London within the Jaws area. The two would then be connected via a large highly themed Hogwarts express complete with a tunnel that utilized effects seen only before in King Kong 360?

I personally think it could be possible. Obviously they wouldn't be riding a real train but I think UC can work out something. I was thinking projector screens, or TV's or whatever theme park magic they can do ;) But I would think it would be possible to build a simulator of a train at least. I mean it wouldn't look fancy from the outside, but no one would see it. I suppose you could sell train candies in the station before boarding.

Heres what I see:

A simulator mechanism going along a track constantly vibrating. The windows will be projectors or *whatever theme park magic* to make it simulate that your going fast, when your really just taking 2 minutes to cross to the park. And the windows will be filmed specially for this ride, leaving and arriving at the USF and IOA stations. Obviously the pat after leaving the station will be the vast mountain scene they have with the bridge and what not. There will be 2 mechanisms running at the same time, to and from.

This is my completely insane approach to what I would love to see. I also think this would greatly benefit the park for park hoppers. Also if they could incorporate Platform 9 ¾ somewhere on the PH ticket. I would love this especially because I find it a tedious and long walk to go from USF to IOA, especially for events in one park and not the other. And in general, it's a long walk from HP to the entrance of IOA, IMO.

Share your thoughts :)

I think in general the idea is sound, what I'm worried about is capacity. How many "trains" could you have running at any given time?

Well they'd need at least 2 separate dome-tunnel-360-screen thingies if they want people going both ways between parks . . . which would then require slightly different videos and . . . wait, I don't like the train idea again. This is just too complicated.

From Twitter of Exprcoofto

Received further confirmation (not official) that Diagon Alley will be built where JAWS currently is.

What if...we rode with Harry and Ron in their car...
I see the train idea as a tad bit costly...maybe that's just me but covering a train in projectors seems like it would be more than it was worth, not to mention if one goes out it will ruin the entire ride. Also you have to factor in replacing the bulbs every time they go out (which isn't cheap)...

Now I'm impatient for official news on what's going to replace Jaws. If it really is Diagon Alley, I'm torn on whether or not to postpone the vacation my family was thinking of taking to Universal and Disney within the next year or two.

But if it's Transformers....meh. :blank:

So does this mean the LC is safe for now? Or is UOR about to overdose on Potter?

I would kill for a V for Vendetta ride. Something that takes the visual palette, emotional punch and enthralling narrative of that movie and puts it in ride format. :drool5:

That's the one good thing that (I'm pretty sure) is happening with this scenario. It means LC is safe for at least 5 or so years, and hopefully a lot more than that.
