I know I'm late to the party in this regard, but I wanted to echo the sentiments from a few pages ago about how freaking awesome it's going to be following/anticipating all of this on here. I missed pre-WWoHP stuff so much! Like, helicopter shots and courtyards that are lies and measuring legitimacy in the unit of Wednesdays.

That being said, I'm warming up to the idea of the train between parks and as much as I will enjoy the wait I would definitely not mind 2015 being here already.

yes..looking forward to construction updates, which have already begun with Jaws being demolished.

Kind of interesting that Universal has made no mention of this despite construction already started. That's pretty unusual. I mean they already annouced that there will be more Potter, so why not just confirm that it will be where Jaws is?

I also think its funny that Universal is already in the process of construction, while Disney hasn't even started construction in AK for Avatar...

So I am thinking that UO will use this technology for the windows to the train

And seriously the switch is a non-issue. They already use this switch on Main Street USA at MK and DLR.

So Screamscape is reporting what we've been talking about for months.

Bravo, Screamscape. Honestly, I often wonder who their "sources" are.

Screamscape doesnt post message board speculation. So if he is posting this info, then its probably from a credible source, and is actually happening. It also appears that he is aware of what the in-car show will be, but I wouild imagine that is more speculated at this point, which is why he didnt post that as well.

Like I said, I want to know how much this is going to actually cost me. If I have to spend a lot extra to travel between parks, I may never ride it.

Wow, that technology is great.

I'm actually picturing it to look like this.

When you go to Universal Orlando you don't get a Park 2 Park ticket?

What we've talked about with the Hogwarts Express has been much more than speculation.

Debatable. Screamscape's MO has always been throw as much against the wall as possible and hope that it sticks.

Well it is a news AND rumors site but it seems like he may have gotten the info from someone reliable.

Yeah I know Lance, and he isn't one to have pretend conversations and brag about it. If he was having a legit conversation (which he tweeted about) I would be bet real money it was with someone who is involved with this project.

While most of us have either been reading posts, or talking to people we know and posting tidbits, it is nice when people like Lance at Screamscape get a good scoop that confirms all the tidbits that we have been gathering.

Yeah, I agree with the others. This is OLD news. What concerns me is that it may be phase one sans much else. A train to nowhere? Really???

They're trying to space out announcements to get the best bang for their buck.

What do you mean?

The Samsung windows look great. I especially love the commercial demonstration of the tech on a train. How perfect for our discussion!

Guys, they use track switches all the time already. It is actually less complex than the track switches in The Mummy.

But wouldn't it slow this whole thing down? And imagine, if one of the trains failed at some point, you're stuck with no way back or forth. With two tracks, at least you'd have one train working at all/most times, in what will probably be a super busy transportation/attraction thingy.

rhino4evr said:
Anyone want to sepculate how Universal will charge for this? Will all 2-Park passes include a free trip? Or will you need to purchase a seperate ticket just for the train? Will you be able to ride unlimited times, or pay for each trip?

I speculate it'll be included with two-park tickets, and to get on it'll be just like the gates at the parks: scan your ticket and your fingerprint.

I also demand another Powerade bottle be left on a window sill for several weeks.

Oh and hey! Welcome back!

That would be great if it weren't for the fact that they don't want us to see out of the trains. The only effective way they can simulate this is by having a separate screen away from the window.

Even a normal screen would be no good. Yes, there is glasses-free 3D technology, but the problem is that there will be more than one person looking out of each window. Think of Spider-Man. The effect doesn't work unless the car is perfectly in sync with the screen. If the car isn't moving while you watch the clip it's really disorienting.

This wouldn't need to be 3D in my opinion. Just a normal video screen behind a glass pane would be more than fine.

BTW, who wants to give me a couple thousand dollars to get me one of those Samsung TVs?

If the trains are on an elevated track that is going through a tunnel, I might feel a little better about this. Otherwise a quick ride on the Dragon Challenge lift hill and spotting two midget-Howgarts Expresses passing by through a back lot is going to kill the magic pretty quickly.

Mmmmmhmmmm. Me. Too.

Really, though, in the next five years, 4k is going to be the next big thing. My 720p tube tv is weeping.

If he knows what the in-car show tech will be, then he should post it. If it's just speculation and he wants confirmation before posting it, then he shouldn't have mentioned it. But saying that he'll tell us at some other time is ridiculous.

Oh well that's already a given. I was talking about how it would ruin the magic of riding the train if you can easily see what's really happening by riding Dragon Challenge.

I don't recall ever looking the backstage portion between USF and IoA while on Dragon Challenge
