If they're we're going by hand-me-downs, what if they're going to make the screens in Mummy 3D and it'll use the old glasses too? Could that help explain the high level of brightness we're seeing? :shrug:

I dont know about 3D glasses with a roller coaster portion. Some would more than likely end up falling out.

It's being used as a testing ground for Gringotts. That's my guess. Everything happening at the Mummy is temporary while they work on certain effects for Gringotts. I would further assume that Mummy won't get these enhancements so it won't be competing with Gringotts.

Basically anyone who is riding the mummy lately will notice improvements to the ride, but they won't last, hence the comment about expecting something and then not getting what you expected.

And after what happenned with the first WWoHP on here with a member releasing detailed information about the paint they used on the wall for wall projections and UO Legal came down hard, vagueness is our friend, not our enemy, and it makes it fun to guess these riddles :thumbs:

Here is my guess.

The new ride is currently being tested with Mummy vehicles and spiderman's old screens, somewhere in a secret laboratory (aka SS44)

I don't know about Mummy not getting the enhancements ever, but I think the first part of your post is the closest we've come.

And if they're worrying about Mummy competing with Gringotts they're crazy. Gringotts has the possibility to kill Mummy, the more I think about it.

Well we know things but very often we don't understand what it all means. We take 'new' projectors and run with it as 4K. Then management freaks. Why would they freak about new 4K projectors? Because we were barking up the right tree for the wrong reason. Too close for comfort.

That's interesting considering what you've been saying about SS44...Hmmm...

I recall pointing that out at some point much earlier in this thread (or perhaps the Mummy thread). If I could search my own posts I'd find it... at the time, everyone sort of dismissed the idea... doesn't seem too far-fetched now, huh?

Oh yea, I didn't think it was possible. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Especially if it's not getting upgrades right now...

The ride's already 8 years old. It'll be 10, maybe 11 or 12, by the time they'd decide to close it. The question is, will they retheme it and keep the "ride" with an identical layout or completely rip it out ala Kong and slide something new in?

I dunno! The Metropolitan Museum's collection of Egyptian Antiquities is one of the largest outside of Egypt... for my money, Mummy has a good 10 more years of staying power. It is a very good attraction.
