Right, but at the same time... there is a ton of stuff already created off site. I know this in part because of you... and I tip my hat to you for that. *wink*

Nassal does have a ton of stuff under tarps sitting around their back lot. Obviously you can't see what it is because it's covered. But they have been busy, busy, busy. And there work force has to have tripled. They were parking all down both sides of Atlanta Ave.

I don't really know anything about the shop names. All I have heard about the shops is Ollivander's will have 3 show rooms and that there will be a Butterbeer shop.

Oh, and concerning 2.0 being twice the size of 1.0. It actually won't be twice the size technically, because Dragon Challenge is such a real estate hog. But the guest area will be twice the size of 1.0

ahha ok thanks disneyhead!! I do hope the Weasleys shop is interactive and detailed. Along with the Borgin & Burkes that is supposed be an interactive experience.

Right I forgot about those 2. But they have been discussed quite a bit. They are both supposed to be pretty detailed.

YESSS. The possibilities are starting to become endless with Universal Orlando. At this point i would not be surprised if they decided to make Fear Factor into something Harry Potter related or bring King Kong back into the parks. Those are some of my dream ideas which are not impossible because Universal has already made some of my dream ideas a reality.

With the current Ollivanders, can one see the show going on through the windows at night? I have not been at night and have never attended the thing.

Also, did recent pictures that Bob posted actually show concrete pads laid in Diagon/London area? I thought I saw it but I also might have been doing too much meth lately. (joking)

Looked through my latest shots. No slabs poured as of the 12th. But, areas had been formed, utilities stubbed up and footers formed, rebar installed and concrete poured. All in all, they more than likely have poured some of the slabs by now.

Things appeared differently (for me) with Hogsmeade. They poured sonotube style footers for the steel work and began framing it upwards. It is as if the concrete flooring arrived after the building was framed in or perhaps even later. Perhaps that is what you mean by footers Bob?

A footer is a pour of concrete that would usually support a poured or CMU wall. They footer would be wider than the wall is thick and would be of a substantial thickness. Thickness would depend on the soil conditions it's bearing on. After the walls are erected, the area inside would graded to the proper depth a slab poured.

Please remember that I'm from a colder climate and although we used to do mat foundations the are definitely more prevalent down here. I my opinion, what I saw was footers. I could be wrong.

yeah, this is what I have always known as a footer too. I swear 3-brooms had only poured sonatubes to bolt the beams to. The rest appeared as unstructured lumpy sand around them. No outline footer.

(my bad... we are going to put everyone to sleep with this discussion)

I only have to imagine that a conversation has occurred to convert Fear Factor to MI6 headquarters (James Bond). It will be outside Diagon alley but blend it perfectly with the waterfront London they are trying to sell. No doubt Skyfall's performance has got Universal excited. I only wonder if they'd go the stunt show route or develop it into a ride...

On that note, perhaps a re-theme of Disaster to the London tube waayy down the line? Far more pressing things but it would create a really well-themed corner of the park.

No, That would be a BAD move considering the attacks on the London tube on 7/7/05.... That would be in such bad taste and I doubt any Brit would ride it.
