I wonder what types of implications this has for universal, considering WB holds the rights to their largest IP, potter.

HHN doesn't impact Potter. Universal wouldn't do anything that could get the Potter contract rescinded/expire.

I have no inside information on how the rights to those properties work at all, but it's kinda always felt like the rights to Saw were thrown to basically anyone who asked for them and were incredibly easy to get. In 2008, there was an official haunted house for the property in a random California shopping plaza. 2009 had a haunted attraction at Thorpe Park, Universal Orlando, Universal Hollywood, and Fright Dome Las Vegas. 2010 had it at Warner Bros Movie World in Australia. Then, it came back to HHN in 2017. And so on.

WB already worked with Six Flags for DC/Looney Tune characters. Warner Bros only licenses specific characters/brands, not their entire catalog, which is why Potter, Scooby-Doo and Beetlejuice are present in the Uni parks.

It's all individual licenses.

The Marvel rights are the complete opposite since Marvel was desperate back in the 90s and gave away everything to Universal.

I am FUMING. The conjuring is my FAVORITE horror franchise and the Six Flags closest to me - Great America, hasn't said a peep about this. WTF.

But so far SFMM is the only park to announce anything about Fright Fest. I would guess other SF parks are getting the licensed IP houses as well, just like they have in the past when they did Alice Cooper in all their parks.

So what’s the 6 house and what’s the one house left out?? I’m kinda thinking StrTh 4 will be left out. It’ll probably have beautiful and huge sets they don’t want spoiled.

A different member on the HNN Discord got their email for the 6 house UTH. Exorcist is the odd man out which makes sense with the movie not being out most of the event.

Lots of "synergy" this year sure, but also a lot of extra experiences that are really helping to flesh out HHN this year.
