The whole back story is a perfect fit to the Spring story they pulled out of their @$$.
And placing a sh!tload of propellors in a building doesn't make it a hangar.

It's the same with the princessess meet and greet at MK. The entrance has a ridiculous tiara as it's entrance.
The nine old man, real artists, would NEVER draw a stupid entrance like that. It;s not fitting to the world.
A theme is not putting a lot of crap in a building and say it's a hanger. It's building a hanger and then build a restaurant in there. But the 9 old men have left and the idiots who are now designing this have no clue. It's sad the so called real Disney fans don't see it and let them get away with it.

The AC did not used to be in that area, this is more where RNR Beach Club and Motion were (although I think this was built over the water completely).

The Adventurers Club still stands to this day. How much longer is the question since The Edison is rumored to be going in that spot.

I know it isn't the exact spot, but it is in the area of the old Adventurer's Club. It just seems to make more since to pay homage to a once great, endearing, and epically missed venue than to tack Indiana Jone's name onto something that, without a sign to point it out, looks more like something out of AC or even The Rocketeer.

Well, being fair, this certainly won't be Trader Sam's and there's not even really a possibilty they could capture the same vibe Sam's does. The space is too big.

Sam's, while bigger than it's DL counterpart, is small and intimate, something The Hangar certainly won't be.

Besides the 'ordering the drink and get a special effect' and 'exclusive mugs' bar experience? Ok then yes minus those things it won't be Trader Sam's.

Tiki bars have always embraced using weird themed elements, such as rain against windows, to create an atmosphere. They've sold tiki mugs with drinks. To somehow take that idea and reskin it is.... wrong. It's off.

Yes, this will have all of those things, but that wasn't my point. You obviously didn't read properly. Trader Sam's is small and intimate versus The Hangar, which is on a large scale and even has a separate outdoor bar. If you aren't right at the bar, then I fear it will seem like Rainforest Cafe when someone orders an expensive "Volcano" dessert and then everyone yells "Volcano!".

Also, the more I think about this, the more I care less about IJ being forced in here for the sake of a Trader Sam's style experience. Sam's is incredibly crowded all the time and with only a capacity for 51 people inside, The Hangar will spread some locals out and hopefully make the experience for the better in both locations.

Of course, while it wouldn't surprise me if they did continue to build more bars like this around property, I hope if they do, they pick and choose wisely as Trader Sam's was cool because of the unique-ness of it and the tiki lovers, skippers and AC fans. You can't just slap anything anywhere and call it a day, which is my only fear with The Hangar. However if they were to build just one more like this around the resort, i'd want it to be on The Boardwalk. I don't have a theme in mind, but i'd love to see them start to promote The Boardwalk a bit more as a place for adults as there is plenty to do there for adults and I feel like many don't realize it.

Do wanna say that on Sat at 8pm, we waited about 30 min and found a table no problem. It was pretty tame crowd.

Well, every time i've gone it's been at least 45 mins to an hour+. Of course I haven't been in awhile.

Point is, this will draw some locals away from Sam's i'm sure and be a big hit with tourists i'm sure. Since the building itself is so large, people should be able to just walk in and sit down most of the time.

I do wonder if they will apply a 21+ age restriction here after a certain time. Seeing that it's in a more tourist heavy area, I wouldn't bet on it, especially given the size of the structure. It is possible that the outdoor bar in the "Reggie" boat will be 21+ though...wouldn't be surprised to hear that at all.

Not trying to be smart here, regardless if you agree with the addition of the IJ theme or not, why would you come into a DTD thread and expect anything to be in the parks?

Secondly, the stunt show is leaving soon, so it wouldn't make sense at this current stage to be in DHS unless they had larger plans for a IJ Ride.

Is it closing officially? It's only been there for over 25 years. And it just sounds like a concept Disney would have in the park that features Indy, since they're really reaching to try to tie it in to this with this.

But go on Disney. Open the Mos Eisley Cantina in DTD too. That makes sense.

It would appear they planned the restaurant as "The Hangar" and then realized they have the IJ IP they've done nothing with in FL..and they promptly tacked it on..

I would also not be surprised if every bar/venue uses the Trader Sam's model from here on out..I'm sure it makes a ton

I know that rumor has been tossed around for quite some time now. As the park stands now, they cannot close that Stunt Show unless they have their project ready to open. Based on spec, that won't be for another 4-5 years.

I'm not necessarily sure that the model will be as successful for every replica. I believe a Haunted Mansion bar (as the Poor Judgement Crew suggested) would be a great theme to model the TS schtick to. With this? It's possible but I have some doubts.

Point was, it'll be gone if they ever get around to Star Wars

Also, another theory on why IJ was added could be that The Hangar may have originally been planned as third party, but someone pulled out last minute and Disney just decided to tack on the IJ theme and go with a Trader Sam's style bar as they know it's popular.

Whatever it is, it looks very inviting and cozy. I want one! As for Jock's, I don't get the hate. I understand that it was likely a quick change, but I'm down to give it a try one of these days.

Nope. But it is part of the "used to be really cool" LA Club scene. It will be a cool addition to DS.
