It's not based on an episode. It's a story made exclusively for the attraction featuring a spot on Rod Serling impression.

You are correct. I was just having fun with my imagination. But it was meant as a compliment to imagineering that they captured the feel of the series so well that a fan of the series could believe that the premise of the story fits right in with the series

its an overlay so maybe if we let them put this in we will get haunted mansion holidays.

There is no "if we let them..." with Disney. They will do what they are going to do, but I can assure you no matter what, we aren't getting HMH.

The part where he points to the elevator is taken from a real episode. But Serling is actually saying "behind me is a map" but they use the real line and cut it at the m sound and dub the rest.

This video shows the preshow then the episode his line is pulled from.

Huh. I was always under the impression that more of the real Serling was used. Learn every day.

"It's a Good Life", one of the most famous episodes in fact. The incorporation of Twilight Zone IP was reverse engineering as WDI was trying to figure out a good theme for this hotel drop tower attraction they were designing. I believe one of the proposed ideas was a haunted hotel with a story, characters and jokes written by Mel Brooks. Have no idea how Brooks would've easily stayed family friendly though!

We should all be thankful that Disney does not, and will never own the rights to Hotel Transylvania because they would've slapped that on ToT in a heartbeat.

The clip is him, and everything up until right before "A service elevator".

It's a Good Life is a seminal episode of television. Everyone should track it down and watch it.

Also, I want to visit the dimension where Hotel Mel happened. Brooks is one of my favorite filmmakers. Would love to see a ride by him

Yup, actually much more acceptable if it ends up happening. Especially with Aerosmith getting into their 70's. Sure GotG doesn't really fit the theme of Sunset, but neither does RNRC as is so... yeah.

To bring this up (as it needs to), Brian and Andy (Hate) had in the recent OU Podcast, discussing the Marvel Contract..give it a listen, as its quite fascinating to hear on some of the details of the contract.

Which was a rumor for GotG or spider-man out at DLR.

Still doesn't mean it can happen.

I can see Spider-Man making sense for ToT. You're in a lift, the cable snaps, he saves you. Add story before and after and you've got a pretty solid ride.

I've ridden the worlds tallest drop tower and I agree with this 100%. Tower of Terror just can't be touched by any other drop ride.
