Don't get me wrong, I love ToT and I would prefer they kept it that way but if they had to change it, I think Spider-Man would be better.

It would actually make sense at DCA if they are intent on retheming ToT and creating a Marvel land in the surrounding area.

I was talking to my wife about this last night and she seemed kind of angry about ToT in WDW being rethemed but didn't seem that bothered about DCA and that's the same reaction I had.

I've been trying to figure it out. I always hear people talking about how much better the WDW version is compared to DCA but personally I don't think there is really that much more of a difference but the WDW holds a lot of fond memories for me plus it's by far the best ride in DHS whereas DCA has California Screamin', Soarin and RSR and it's kind of been reduced in status to just another good ride.

Ive ridden Zumanjaro and before riding it I was super excited and afterwards I didn't even care to ride it again even though it was walk on. Its problem is since it is so tall you hit terminal velocity before the end of the drop and therefore lose the falling sensation that gives the thrill. The drop tower at kings dominion is good at 300 feet but the extra 100 feet on zumanjaro dont add to the thrill at all except for the view at the top. The fact that ToT pulls you down faster than gravity really accentuates the thrill that makes up for the tame height. I was always curious why the motors are at the top of the tower and not at the bottom giving more space at the top for the ride shaft?

The DCA version also doesn't have the fifth dimension scene, which is what really makes WDW's special.

The DCA version is about 1/3 the length of the DHS version. And far, far inferior.

The Spider-Man easter eggs I believe are popping up in Hollywood Land if I'm not mistaken. It's not necessarily out of place as it's filled with "props" from the theme of being a working movie studio.

The WDW version has charm. Its location makes it a character in the park. It has a sense of time and place. It ignites a sense of anticipation and fear as you walk down Sunset Blvd, and you get closer and closer. It has a certain rickety feel to it which adds to the experience. It's truly a master class of an attraction from end to end.

DCA is and feels like a modernized "express" version and lacks everything above.

Drop Zone at KD is straight up terrifying.. Rode it with my wife and afterwards I was like yeah no need to ever do that again. Great point about Zumanjaro btw.. Now as for this thread is there any point? I mean this is probably the dumbest rumor to ever grace the internets but yet people are holding on to it..

I hate this rumor. If we have to lose a ride at DHS for something Marvel, then either Star Tours or Rock N Roller Coaster make the most sense.

I still think people hold WDW's TOT in way too high regard compared to DCA's. People act like DCA's just a drop tower but that one Fifth Dimension scenes makes WDW's a next level attraction in comparison.

No. It's a clone. It was done for cheaper. They have their differences. I can also think of some other rides that had some elements shaved off when cloned, like WDW's Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World, etc. Doesn't mean they're not great attractions on their own merits.

WDW's also has the randomization aspect, which DCA doesn't have.

WDW's also has the garden queue, a boiler room which looks like a creepy boiler room and not something that looks like it belongs in toontown, it also has a elevator behind the elevator doors and not some awkward blank hallway leading to another set of elevator doors with the elevator. The list goes on and on.

The ToT in WDW is pretty iconic for the area, and one of the few large Disney attractions with a 360 degree facade. Unless they plan to completely do over the entire ToT building, I just don't see what GotG has to do with a 1930's hotel...

Not to mention that ToT is still one of the most popular rides in an admittedly struggling park. I was there a couple of years ago, and I didn't think any of the special effects were dated or boring, but then, I also have a lot of nostalgia for it, since it was one of the first real "grown up" rides I ever rode as a kid.

Is TOT scary? I still haven't rode it.

It would be weird to see a GOTG theme over the TOT building.

Yes, it's 'scary', like a thriller is. It's a great attraction, you can walk through the queue and then ask for the chicken elevator at the boarding area to leave if you want.

The Queue is more interesting than the ride itself to me. But I laugh on the ride. It's thrilling for sure. Scary? Well depends if you don't like to be dropped and toyed with lol

I can handle the Aerosmith roller coaster and enjoy riding that. Not sure if I should even compare these two rides. I don't like that drop feeling in Splash Mountain or Jurassic Park.

I Love how different everyone is. I Love drops. But I don't know the up and down feeling repeatedly for a few seconds may not be for you, hence the name Tower of Terror.
